𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐠𝐞 | 𝖻𝗅𝖺𝖼𝗄𝗉𝗂𝗇𝗄 7𝗍𝗁 𝗆𝖾𝗆𝖻𝖾𝗋𝗌²

𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬

It wasn't Hana's first time in the SM building but each time she came, she felt like she was stepping into a whole new world due to it being the complete opposite of the YG building. Unlike YG, the SM building didn't have a unique exterior and looked like a regular building. The decorations inside were also very different since everything is in a much lighter color contrast while YG only uses color palettes of black, grey, and brown.

And of course, Hana held a bias toward her own company building and thought it was better. 

Hana's manager accompanied her to SM for her recording session with Baekhyun. Baekhyun met them at the entrance and led them to the studio. In the studio, an SM producer was waiting for them.

"Hana, this is one of our producers, Nu Yejun." Hana bowed and greeted the producer. "Hello, I'm Hana," she shook his hand. "Hi, you can just call me Producer Nu. I'll be leading the recording. Let's get started?"

Baekhyun went into the studio alone since he started off the song. "Are you settled?" the Producer asked. Baekhyun through up a thumbs up and began recording. "Yeppeune oneuldo eojemankeum. Ani oneureun deo yeppeojyeonne. Ireon mareul hal ttaemada neoneun. Mot deureun cheok neul ttan yaegireul hae." 

"Can you actually sing a octave higher? Just want to see something really quick," the producer said. Baekhyun sand his verse again a octave higher. "Which on is more comfortable for your voice?" he asked Baekhyun. "The one I just sang," he replied. "Okay, so let's shoot it again a few more of times."

After recording and playing back multiple times, Baekhyun and Hana switched, and she went into the studio. Hana ran her line twice before starting. "Eojen neomu joeun kkumeul kkwosseo. Jigeum malhaejugin. Ganjireowoseo malhagi sileo. Geurigo ireon geon malhamyeon an doendae." 

The Producer played back the recording and asked Hana, "I want you to try singing more softer, like you're daydreaming. And try use more of your head voice for higher notes." Hana nodded and recorded again, this time applying his suggestions. He shook his head in approval saying, "I liked that. Let's go again and also do the chorus in the same style."

Baekhyun went back in the studio to for the chorus and adlibs. After singing the chorus, they harmonized together. Producer Nu replayed it and Hana didn't quite like it. Not because it didn't sound good, but because it didn't sound right. "Could we try to do those again but split it, so one of us does the first half and the other does the second half?" Hana asked. The producer rubbed his chin and threw up his hand. "Sure." 

They recorded it and decided to go with that version. After they had a small break for water.

"I think I'm going to remove the high note from the last chorus," the Producer said while writing on the lyrics sheet. "What, why?" Baekhyun asked. "It's not even that hard," Hana said.

"It's not that," Producer Nu said. "It's just I don't think it's necessary considering the song's concept. It'll stick out and not blend well with the rest of the song." Hana looked over at what he was writing down. He was crossing out some of the lyrics. 

"Are you also going to take out the who section?" Hana asked. "No. the lyrics will just have to change a little." "Will the melody stay the same then?" Baekhyun asked. "Maybe, I don't know."

After some more discussion, Hana wrote another line to replace the hole that the high note left. She pushed the paper over to Produce Nu and he checked it. He hummed the lyrics a couple of times and gave it back to her. 

"I don't like it," he said. Hana rewrote the lyrics again and gave it to him. He crossed out a word and wrote something below it. "We'll do this," he said. Baekhyun look at the sheet.

Despite the song being short, the process took multiple hours. Producer Nu even changed on of the instruments with took an extra two hours. The sun was almost setting when they finally reached satisfaction with the song. 

Everyone clapped at the success and were glad they were able to finish that day. "Let's go out for something yummy to eat," Baekhyun suggested. Hana immediately agreed since she hadn't eaten a proper meal yet. "Sure, let's go!" Producer Nu said.
