Owen touched the ground nervously. He felt that he would be caught by his twin at any given second. The students and teachers remained silent in the bleachers. Unknown to the students, the teachers, and Owen. His twin also brought out a camera like device that could detect heat signatures. "Ready or not intruder, here I come. I will find you one way or another." Owen's twin said as he started his search in the dark. Owen didn't move from his hiding place. His twin started to look at the gym curtains. The school principal had his eyes closed. He hoped that Owen's twin would find the intruder soon. There was nothing giving off heat behind the curtains. Owen held his breath and tried not to make a single sound. The students watched as he looked at the bleachers full of students. There was a lot of heat being given off there. Owen hoped that his twin wouldn't think to look behind the bleachers. Owen's twin went to look at the school hallway from one door that was the farthest away from Owen's hiding place.
Owen's twin found that the only source that was giving off heat was the lights in the hallway. "Owen, we've already checked the hallway. There's nothing there." A teacher nearby exclaimed. Owen's twin decided to look behind the bleachers. The students felt that Owen might be hiding there. Since it's the only place to hide for him. The students and teachers have not fully looked through them. Owen's twin looked behind each of the bleachers. He already noticed the heat coming from the students was already present, but something seemed unusual on his device. There was another source of heat. It was coming from behind the bleachers. Owen's twin smiled as it went to investigate. "You can't hide from me in there." Owen's twin declared as he went behind the bleacher with Owen hiding behind it. Owen was trapped. There was nothing he can do. He felt that he could just run out into the hallway. Would he be able to outrun himself and the whole school? Owen's twin slowly went behind the bleacher that Owen was hiding in. His smile grew greater still as he stopped. He dropped the heat camera like device. Owen was staring at his twin in horror. "You're coming with me." The twin said. He could see Owen by his night vision goggles. Owen was shaking with fright as Owen's twin quickly tried to have both of his hands clenched onto his arms. Owen put his hands on his twin's shoulders and pushed him towards the wall. The twin stumbled backwards. He ended up nearly tripping and hitting his back against the gym wall. The students were glad that the intruder was caught. "That won't stop me." Owen's twin spoke as he got himself standing again. He pulled off his night vision goggles. "Turn on the lights! Let's get him!" He shouted to the gym teacher and principal. The gym teacher, who was standing by the light switch, went to turn it on. Owen ran out of his hiding place and went out through the small entry way between the bleacher that was closest to one of the gym doors.
Then the school bell rang. Owen could see that his twin was trying to follow him through the dark without his night vision goggles. Owen could see that there was some flashlight being shined in the room. They shined on the bleachers and the teachers and students sitting on them disappeared. The lights in the gym hallway were turned off. It was dark as the gym, except for the day light shining in through the glass window. Owen's twin disappeared too. Owen's classmates were in the gym holding their flashlights using the flashlight apps from their phones. The gym teacher was using a flashlight herself. She was making sure that every one of her students was here. "Owen!" One of his teammates called. "I'm right here." He responded. "Where were you?" One of his classmates queried him. Owen didn't answer. "As long as my students are here. That's what matters." The gym teacher said. Owen's classmates surrounded him. They both were wondering what was going on. "Get changed. I'll be waiting in the hallway." The gym teacher ordered as she led the students to the hallway. The gym door was opened, and Owen's classmates shined their flashlights up and down the hallway. Owen never thought that he would be in the same school again. When he looked out into hallway, he remembered that everything was arranged in the opposite way. Owen went to get changed with his classmates. The emergency lights were on in the change room, as well as the hallway. When Owen was in the hallway, the principal came to talk with the gym teacher. The students waved at the principal as he went to go talk with the other teachers. Owen and his classmates waited until the school bell would ring, but it didn't. When it was time, Owen and the other students went to their lockers and grabbed their lunches. All of the students returned to the cafeteria. They all ate while the teachers from all of the classes watched them as they ate. The principal shouted in the middle of the lunch period. He made an announcement. He said that the rest of the classes are canceled for the day. He said that he will also be informing the parents about this new development. "This is a strange day." Owen said as he talked with his gym classmates. "What do you mean it's a strange day?" One boy asked him. "Where have you been? That's the real question we've got to ask you." Another boy rallied. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Owen replied as he took a bite out of his sandwich. "Oh, come on Owen. We're your friends. You can tell us." The second boy adduced encouragingly. Owen swallowed a bite from his sandwich.
He then looked at his friends and spoke. "Would you believe I believe if I told you that the school has changed every time I heard the school bell ring?" Owen pumped. The students all looked at each other. They felt that Owen was slowly losing his mind. Since he was their friend as well, they decided to believe him. "What do you mean by the school changes every time I hear the school bell ring?" One of the boys questioned him. Owen began to tell his story. He told the students the experiences he had during the morning and the time that the power outage started. The students asked him questions about his experiences. And made a few comments as well. While they talked, Owen's twin came out of the gym. He made his way to the cafeteria. He watched as Owen talked to his friends. He felt that Owen's friends wouldn't believe him. "Who would believe the tall tale that Owen had an evil twin?" Owen's twin said to himself. He disappeared into the hallway after one of the teachers nearly spotted him in the doorway. Owen's twin snuck around the nearest corner of the hallway close by. The rest of the day went by normally. Owen looked inside his locker just as he was about to get picked up by his parents. Everything about it seemed normal. He closed his locker and walked down the hallway to the front entranceway of the school. Owen always felt that his twin would be stalking him. Three of his gym classmates met him in the hallway. Owen felt that they could be laughing at him when they asked him questions about his twin. "So Owen, how is your day? You did seem a little bit scared. Are you hallucinating or something?" They all grilled him. "You don't believe me do you?" Owen disclosed while staring at them with a serious face.
"Well, it's just that we want to believe you, but we don't know if your story could be true or not. We haven't seen anybody like you ever since today." One of the classmates answered, trying not to start a fight. Owen was still serious and a little upset. "You've done a great job helping out your teammates and winning some goals." One of his teammates told him. Suddenly, Owen spotted something leaning on the window that made him spooked. Owen's twin had his face up against the window staring at him from it. He was not smiling, nor was he angry at him. "What's the matter?" One of his classmates asked him, noticing how nervous Owen was. The three of them looked at the window, that he was staring at. There was nothing there. "Don't worry Owen, maybe you're just tired out from playing soccer at gym class." The second classmate imparted as he went to look back at him. "There was somebody staring at me from outside of the school. Just staring at me from that window." Owen conveyed to his classmates. They looked at each other. They appeared to be worried about Owen. They were trying to think what they were going to say to their best gym classmate. Owen's parents were there in the car. "Sorry guys, I guess it was just me. Maybe I am seeing things. I have to go home now. See you later." Owen walked towards the door to the car. His sister and parents were in the car waiting for him. The gym classmates looked at each other again and shrugged. Owen opened the car door. "Hi mom, hi dad, hi Francine. How are you doing today?" He wondered with a cheerful voice. The mother, the father, and Francine both said hi and said that their day was fine. "Another day at school done. It was a little bit stressful, but I managed to survive." Francine told her family. The parents pulled out of the driveway that the school had for the parents in their cars to pickup their preteen children. The parents drove to where Carter's school is. They talked about how their day went. Owen was more than happy to tell his family about the soccer game in gym class. He didn't mention the time that he encountered his twin at school. Owen figured out what was that all about. Owen's twin watched the car drive away from on top of the school building.
