Chapter 25

In a moment, the gym was filled up with students and teachers. They all wanted to see how this new contraption would work. There was circle like device that was placed in the middle of the gym ceiling. It pointed down at Owen's clone as he screamed and struggled to get himself freed from the metal table. The students just smiled as they watched him try to break free of the leather straps that held him down. Owen was thankful that he wasn't the one who was strapped to the metal table. He was thankful that there was a piece of technology that would create a clone of him that would take his place. "Do you think that the clone would break free at any moment?" Owen asked Frank. He shook his head. "The clone is like a computer. You have to give it instructions and it will follow them. I'm sure that the clone is just staying strapped to the table. I've programmed it to struggle and scream against the table that's holding him down." The sound of the clone screaming was muffled by the bandana fastened to his mouth. Owen's double and the principal arrived at the gym. They both stood in front of the whole school. The school cheered as they stood in front of the clone. The principal gestured to the students to calm down and to let him speak.

The principal made a speech that told a small story about how he was approached by the government about a secret project. Scientists have discovered parallel earths. The worldwide governments want to establish an empire across the whole multiverse. The only thing that they need is to motivate the whole world to help them ensure that they conquer the universe. The principal has decided to allow one student to volunteer and explore one alternate earth. The goal was mentioned by the principal in his speech. Owen's twin smiled as the audience cheered him on. Frank just looked at him with a provoked expression on his face. Owen himself couldn't see Frank's face due to the fact that they were invisible. The principal has continued his speech announcing in time that the whole school can participate in a project where the goal is to dominate one alternate earth at a time. "This machine," the principal started. The students and the teachers all focused their attention to the big satellite contraption on the ceiling. The power in the school went out. The only thing that was powered up was the contraption itself. It was charging up, while the clone was still strapped to the table. Lights were turning on the big satellite dish itself. "It will corrupt people from other dimensions. Allowing us to take over many alternate earths with it. In the next school year, many of you can help out with the project in exchange for volunteer hours." The principal finished. The students started to whisper a little among themselves. "Frank, are you sure this plan is going to work?" Owen asked. He looked at where he thought Frank might be standing. Instead, he only heard the sound of the machine whirring away. "Frank?" Owen called again.

Just like before, he had no answer. "I don't like this." Carter whispered to his older brother. "Let the corruption of the alternate earth begin right here!" The principal shouted. The response was a lot of cheers and a clapping. Owen went to put his hand on Frank's shoulder. He hoped that Frank was still standing right beside them. Instead, his hand felt nothing but air. He was starting to feel hesitant about Frank's plan. Owen's twin held a small remote with a single big red button. He had the crowd cheering. Owen and Carter closed their eyes. The double pressed the big button. The machine started to whine louder. A ruby colored light was coming down from the five long parts that were keeping the device attached to the ceiling. The ruby colored light reached the tip of the giant satellite dish. The satellite dish fired at an incredible speed. Then the device was automatically turned off. The light that came off the machine like a Christmas tree suddenly turned to darkness. The gym lights came on. "You've got to be kidding me! Is the machine supposed to do that? Yeah what's going on?" The students from within the crowd asked among themselves. Owen's twin was wondering what was going on to. Suddenly, Owen and his brother became visible again. The devices that made them invisible were not working. The sound of laughing could be heard from behind the principal and Owen's double. They both turned around and saw Frank standing behind them. He had a smile on his face and feeling pleased with himself. "I know that you've have framed me Owen." Frank said. "I don't know what you're talking about." He responded. "I know about your plans to turn one of your doubles into a bad guy. So I took my chance to get even with you." The screaming and struggling clone soon vanished. The crowd was instantly shocked. "This is all Frank's fault! You've made the doppelganger disappear!" A teacher shouted from the audience.

The crowd in the bleachers all agreed to this by shouting. Frank smile at the crowd. "Did you honestly think that was Owen? He has been helping me getting back at you. Come on out Owen, I know that you're hiding in the curtains." Owen gasped. He wasn't expecting a twist of events. "You can step out from behind the curtains Owen." Frank spoke with a smooth tone of voice. Carter got out from behind the curtain. Owen did the same. Owen's twin was shocked when he saw his very own twin hiding from behind the curtains. He then looked back at Frank. "How could you? You've disappointed your school twice Frank. Now you're going to pay!" Owen rendered as he rushed to grab his twin. Frank stopped him and he wrestled him to the floor. "Thankyou for making my revenge all the more fun Owen. You can leave at any time now!" Frank yelled with a loud, but courteous sounding voice. Owen didn't know what to think. Why was he used for some mysterious plot for revenge? "Get my twin!" Owen's doppelganger shouted. "He's not leaving until we get him turned evil like me. We will also make his brother bad too. They will both serve us as agents. The empire that will reign throughout dimensions can still happen!" The teachers and the students all stood up and scrambled down the bleachers. Suddenly, there was light bulb that broke on its own. The glass bulb shattered into tiny pieces as pieces of it fell from where it once was. Sparks also fell from the ceiling. They instantly dispersed after hitting the ground. The tiny fragments of glass landed on an area of the gym floor were heard as the glass rolled a once after hitting the floor. The teachers and the students were spooked by the explosion and stopped. Owen's twin was caught off guard by the sound of falling glass. Frank gave him a punch in the face before getting backup. Suddenly there was the sound of something shooting off the wall in the hallway. Most of the students in the crowd jumped, as the sound came from behind them. "What did you do Frank?" Owen's double asked. He was as frightened as the rest of the school was. "The school maintenance man has also teamed up with me. He planted a virus on the school's super computer. There is going to be a lot of chaos in the school right now." Frank explained. Another light bulb exploded. Three of students screamed at the instant loud sound. "This school won't be exploring alternate universes anytime soon. Your fancy parallel universe exploring devices will not work in the end. The virus will spread to all of the fancy electronic gadgets stored in this school when all of the chaos is ended. I have had my revenge. Being bad is great after all." The principal stared at Frank with disbelief and in a state of shock. Carter shook Owen's arm. "Can we go home now? It's getting scarier by the minute." He asked. Owen was still stunned that Frank would take revenge on the school for framing him. More gym lights detonated by themselves. There was only one lightbulb left in the whole school. Frank laughed in triumph as he watched the chaos happen around him. Owen's twin wasn't sure if he should attack Frank or try to help the students. Carter got the device out of Owen's pocket and held it out in his hand. He then grabbed to Owen's hand. The button on top of the joystick like device was pressed.
