Writing Prompt 5

And air was no longer just air, but filled with freshness and the subtle scents of spring flowers. The wind whispered secrets into her ears, now willing to pick up youthful laughter, delicate morning birdsong, and the low hum of a world ever-turning. She blinked and breathed slowly, deliberately; a slow photograph of the world in action, trusting nothing would dart and ruin the shot.

Now it is dark, but she feels no need to run or conceal herself under its darkness. Her soul was as bright as day.

"It takes a special kind of person to experience so much pain and heartache and come out smiling at the end."

I've been waiting to share this one :)

I think the prompt was "someone who doesn't believe in love has a conversation with a stranger that changes their view on love forever" and I thought 'that is so Barryl x Orithiya core' so I wrote about it :) So this is 3rd person limited from Ori's perspective and that's her talking to Barryl at the end because I didn't quite finish lol

I actually liked this piece a lot at the time I wrote it so I volunteered to share it (because we do that when we write these prompts). And my teacher really liked it and said I should expand on it :D

Thing is I'm kinda scared of ruining it LOL. Like it's already good enough as is. If I do end up adding more I'll probably just write it below these notes

So yeah there's some Barrithiya(?) content lol. It's been growing on me since I first thought about it so it will. Probably be canon 😁😁 I'm still on the fence but I'm leaning very heavily to one side and am about to fall off

Usually I'm subconsciously against the 'kind person teaches guarded person how to love again' trope because of the infinitely many good girl x bad boy stories + OC x edgy character dynamics out there (nothing against OC x canon, just a fandom trend I notice)

I guess with Barryl and Orithiya the gender roles are reversed lol. And Ori isn't really a "bad girl"(I think). And their potential relationship doesn't affect them just when they're in a relationship, but also their other relationships (I'm sobbing crying over how Ori grows to be more vulnerable around Sylnala because of Barryl's influence)

But I won't sit here and justify it to myself so I'll say I can enjoy Barrithya and also dislike 'kind x guarded' and call it a day and do some reflection on my biases later 😁😁😁

On that note I think most of my future OC writing will probably go in here. Bc eventually I won't be in creative writing class anymore and then this book'll just sit here 🤔🤔 My oneshot book isn't really the place for OC stuff either since ppl read it for fandom stuff.

So maybe after CWC is over this'll become the OC book??? 🤔🤔 It might.
