Five winters had gone by, and she stepped out of the train not once. The world slowed down during those winters, as if the snow and ice really had frozen the earth in a perpetual state.

In truth, he knew it was her absence that made the world stop turning. The skies remained gray and the trees bare, with echoes of her laughter whispered in the wintery winds. It was work and she was called overseas to the tropics, islands, sub-Saharan Africa.

'Winter isn't the same without you,' he wrote.

'I'm coming back this year,' she writes. 'I've always loved colder weather anyway.'

Don't remember the prompt too well tbh. I think it was old friends meeting after a long time apart?

Not sure where these two will end up tbh. Will they still be friends or will they be awkward?!?! Might continue this.
