Winter was the only season we could be together. I keep my purple mitten hands stuffed in my parka's pockets, breathing into the woolen scarf keeping my nose from falling off. Trees lay bare around the station, their branches covered in snow like icing on a cake. The tracks lay barer in front of me. I shift a little closer to the space radiator.

Winter, when she could afford the time to hop on a train and ride up to this frozen place. And yet, she says there's nowhere she'd rather be. Someday, I'll go and visit her instead.

With a deafening whistle, the train announces its arrival. I sit up straight, waiting for the moment she'd step out of that golden light.

Prompt is the first sentence

This one is loosely based off a movie! Can't remember the name but it was a collection of 3 continuous short stories about how people can drift apart over time.

But the beginning features a boy taking a train during the winter to visit his friend, except his trains keep getting delayed and it's 10pm and he's so upset because there's no way his friend is out that late waiting for him, and if she is then ?!?!? It's so late wtf!!

She is waiting for him in the end and it's a nice reunion and all. So the mention of winter reminded me of the movie since I watched it recently and yeah.

Next part is a continuation of this storyline so look out!! Bye 🥳
