Lauren

After hanging up with William, I made my way to Vanessa first.

I knocked on her room door. ''Come in.''

Vanessa was sitting on the edge of her bed, scrolling through her mobile phone. Next to her was Joe who was still asleep.

When I walked in she quickly typed something and then put it next to her to talk to me.

''Vee, I'm meeting William at a café now. So don't count on me for breakfast,'' I told her. Surprised, she grinned at me.

''Did you ask him or did he ask you?" she asked, amused. ''He just called me and asked,'' I replied, a little shyly.

I had been in an unusually bubbly mood ever since I woke up. I was literally on cloud nine since last night, or actually tonight.

I thought my birthday really couldn't have been more beautiful after the necklace William had given me. I would never have expected such a beautiful gift. I was already happy that he was there, but then he shows me this great view and then the necklace.

And when I thought it would be perfect, the thing I've wished for so much for 3 years happens.

I was afraid to get up for fear that it was all a dream after all. For me, it felt far too good to be true.

Vanessa grinned even more. ''You guys really seem to have had a good time together. I'm telling you, it was nothing out of the blue, him taking you out late at night and giving you such a special gift.''

And I know it now even better than she does.

I had a really hard time not starting to spill like a waterfall about what happened on that viewing platform. Actually, I tell Vanessa everything, but I had to go through this alone for now.

''Yes, it was really nice. I'll get ready then.'' That much I can probably reveal.

I went into my room to pick out my outfit. I decided on a pair of black skinny jeans and a latte colored warm knit sweater that I tucked into the front of my jeans a bit.

The V-collar of the sweater was low enough that you could still see the blue stone of the necklace that I hadn't taken off since yesterday.

I parted my hair horizontally and tied the top half into a bun. The rest I left open and pulled out two strands in front that I curled.
