"Featherpaw, Badgerpaw, Featherpaw, Badgerpaw!'' The clan cheered. Featherpaw pricked her ears. Her mentor was Lilyheart, her best friend, not to mention, clan deputy!
She walked towards Lilyheat, and they touched noses. Badgerpaw scowled as she walked past, but Featherpaw didn't care.
"So," Lilyheart said, "First, I'll show you. . .the borders. And I'll teach you how to tell Kaleclan from Seedclan. . ." Featherpaw nodded, but as she thought about, she was a little scared to go outside of clan territory.
As they padded away from the Seedclan border, Featherpaw heard a strange, rustling noise.
"What's that?" She asked Lilyheart, who had her ears back.
"Hide!" She whispered fiercely. "Fox!" Feahterpaw's heart pounded. A fox? She thought. What does it look like?
Featherpaw peered out from the bush she was hiding in. In front of her was a massive figure with a big, slobbering mouth. She suppressed a shriek of terror, and crouched, trembling.
She watched as Lilyheart leaped at the fox, tearing at it's throat. A few moments later, the fox ran away, terrified. ''It's safe to come out, now," Lilyheart said. "He wouldn't be back for a while now, but just incase, I'll tell the patrols to keep a lookout. . ." She blinked, suddenly looking more cheerful. "You did great!" She said. "If I were you, I'd be trembling out of my fur!" Featherpaw purred in amusement. "Let's go back to camp, I need to report this." Featherpaw nodded, relieved, and trailed after her.
