The day of the gathering. She gulped. Would she act right? What if - what if Lilystar told everyone about why she left?
She shook her head, clearing her thoughts.
They headed to fourtrees, amd Featherstar caught a glimpse of KaleClan, slinking through the trees.
In the previous days, Juniperbush, Birdpaw, Tinypaw, Fringefoot, Heathernose, Hopfoot, and Berryeyes had joined the clan. Of course, they'd welcomed them with opened paws.
They were at fourtrees now, and her clan started to mill around with the others.
"I heard you're leader, after all," Lilystar mewed, "congrats."
She nodded, and let the other leaders congratulate her, that let out a yowl.
"I'm starting this gathering to say that There is now four clans, not three. Please welcome Featherclan, and its members, Juniperbush, Gravelnose, Rainshine, Baykit, Bluekit, Birdpaw, Tinypaw, Fringefoot, Heathernose, Hopfoot, Berryeyes, Chirpfoot, Prancefoot, Waterlily, and Eagletalon, our newly-made medicine cat, Lilacbreeze, and our new deputy, Treefall."
Cats from the clans called mews of Congrats, but some seemed confused.
I know what they're thinking. Shouldn't there only be three? They shouldn't be able to do that!
Well, too bad. We're doing it.
"I can see you all are super excited about this new Clan."
"Featherfoot - I meant Featherstar - would you like to go first?" Lilystar asked.
"Sure."
She took a step forward on the rock, her heart pounding.
"Our clan is doing well, no sickness, plenty of prey. We've established our territory, and will not tolerate trespassers."
Treefall growled in agreement.
Lilystar dipped her head, and motioned for Smokestar to speak.
After every leader had spoken, the cats milled around, exchanging words.
"So, you're leader of a clan now. Why didn't I expect this to happen?" Lilystar's voice sounded behind her. "I miss having you in the clan. If it were my decision, I'd let you stay. But the clan wanted you gone."
"I'm glad I didn't stay. I'm leader now, I have a loyal clan, and I have a mate and kits." She snarled, whipped around, and stalked away.
"Congrats," Lakestar mewed with a dip of her head, and Featherstar nodded in return.
The air was cold, and Featherstar heard rain. Just then, Thunder rumbled. She jumped. Lightning struck at the ground, and rain came pouring down.
"Back to camp!" She screeched over the howling wind.
