Featherfoot walked silently beside Brightnose. Frostkit clung to his back, while Featherfoot had Hopkit. "Brightnose-" She mewed quietly. He didn't look at her.
They walked far from the camp silently. Featherfoot felt Hopkit tremble. "Brightnose," She tried again, "I'm sorry-"
"I don't want to hear it!" He snarled. "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be in this mess!"
She flinched, not expecting him to say that.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that."
Featherfoot nodded in reply.
"Why don't we go find shelter for the night?"
They soon found a small cave, and settled down to rest.
Once everyone was asleep, Featherfoot walked quietly to the entrance and sat, gazing at the stars.
She noticed Hopkit, who had sat down beside her.
He stared wordlessly at the sky, and Featherfoot did the same.
