Silence. Everyone stared at her. "I-" Lilystar's voice faltered. "Featherfoot, is this— is this true?"
Featherfoot bowed her head in embarresment and guilt.
" I- yes. It is true."
Her kits stared, shocked, at her.
"Mother, you broke the warrior code?" Frostkit squeaked, sounding confused, scared. Featherfoot ignored the question. She lifted her head high and stared at Lilystar, waiting for a response
Lilystar stared at her paws. "I need a moment to think about this. Badgertooth, come to my den."
As they headed past, Featherfoot studied her paws. This is so embarrassing, why did this have to happen?
"Featherfoot, you mated with Brightnose?" Gingerfoot's voice was no more than a whisper. Yet again, she remained silent. Lilystar headed out of the den, followed by Badgertooth. She climbed onto high rock. "Featherfoot has. . . Broken the warrior code. This can't be accepted. I know she has kits, but she must be punished. Featherfoot," her voice was barely audible, " you are banished from this clan."
"WHAT?" Featherfoot roared. "You cant! I won't let you!"
"I'm sorry." She meowed quietly. "Brightnose, you have a choice. Go with her, or stay here with us."
Brightnose looked torn. "I- I. . ." He sputtered, "I have to go with Featherfoot. I'm sorry, she's my mate. And my kits will be with her, too."
The clan let out outraged yowls. Glowfoot's head went down. "Are you really leaving?" He asked Brightnose.
"I really am."
