Six years later, after the incident.

“this way, it’s clear!” a little girl yelled and we followed, my hair was way longer now, it was down to my butt, I still had my stupid hat Maggie gave me and I had a new look, a better look if you asked me.

I rested against a tree as my group introduced themselves and I saw the hat on the ground “Judith?” I questioned and she turned to me “how do you know my name?” she asked and I smiled, I told the hat off and fixed my hair “has it been that long, am I like an ancient myth that gets told?” I asked and she hugged me “Y/n, I knew you would come back!” she cheered and I laughed.

There was yelling of her name in the distance and I smiled “you wonder off a lot?” I asked and she laughed leading my group behind her. She ran up and I smiled Aaron, Rosita, Eugene, and another I didn’t recognize, they had all lived.
I heard my group panting and I nodded I heard walkers and I whistled “six a clock, remember what I taught you guys!” I ordered moving to the front, instead of my group moving, Eugene and Rosita came forward to help.

I nodded to my group and we kept moving, judith decided on walking beside me and she looked up at me “you should reintroduce yourself, they all think it’s you” she mumbled and I shook my head “then they’ll think I’m permanently staying, I’m not, you can take them I’m but I am leaving after” I smiled to her and she walked back up to the front.

“can you take the hat off so we can bag your head?” Eugene asked and I took it off “hey guys, I’m back” I smiled with jazz hands and Aaron huffed hurrying to hug me, everyone did.

At Alexandria.

They opened the gate and I put my hat back on as we came in, I looked at Judith and she smiled “this is home” she grabbed my hand and pulled me along “Judith stop, this is still my group your people won’t accept me again” I bent down to her level and she shook my head “my mom’s back, better hide!” she cheered and I stood up at the sound of a horse stopping.
“all clean except that one” Aaron said and I shook my head “I’m also clean as a whistle, no need to inspect me any further Michonne” I raised my hands as soon as her name came out and I froze “turn around, now” she demanded and I turned taking the hat off.

She hugged me smiling “welcome back, Judith, take her to her house, if she wants to go” Michonne said and Gabriel came up to hug me, people were gasping and I felt really awkward “I was wondering if I could go to the infirmary, get my bandages changed?” I asked and Michonne nodded.

I was taken to the infirmary and siddq was giving me a quick check up “you left arm, what happened to it?” he asked and I huffed looking down, “I popped my shoulder out of place, tried to pop it back and instead fucked it up” I smiled and he laid me back “take a deep breath, and relax” he said popping my shoulder and I muffled a yell “that’s better” I smiled and he nodded giving me new bandages and letting my leave.

I walked back to my house quickly and unnoticed, they left it unoccupied for me.
I took a shower and got into clean clothes, I put bandages over the bite on my arm and decided to leave the one on my side uncovered. “I found ‘em, and I found someone else you will love!” Judith cheered and I stopped just out of sight of the window “you need help?” I asked and she shook her head “he does” she nodded to the cell and I saw my dad “well I’ll be dammed, hey pumpkin” he smiled and I gave him a wave “hey dad, Judith have you seen Carl?” I asked and she shook her head “he’s either at your house or ours” she smiled and I nodded. I ran into my group and they were all pretty pissed at Magna.

“We heard it like you had something going with her son, so maybe you can get us a place in?” Kelly said and I shook my head “if I could’ve found him, I would have helped” I huffed as we got back into my house, we all just sat and talked until night, and a knock on the door.

“Grimes?” I questioned and his arms wrapped around me before I could do anything “I thought the whispers, the conversations weren’t true, but hearing Jude say your back, that made it true” he whispered and I smiled “I should probably sleep, I’ll talk to you tomorrow” I smiled and he nodded.

The next morning

I help everyone make sure we left nothing behind before we left “you know you can stay right? This is your home” Connie signed and I huffed “I know, but you guys are my group, I feel responsible for you” I signed back and she laughed “it was cool to see you Jude, maybe I’ll pay you guys a visit, keep the group in this area” I winked and she laughed. “change of plans, I have a friend who has a community like this, she may take you in” Michonne said and I smiled “hilltop?” I questioned and she smiled at me.

We got in a wagon and we were off, but first Carl had to stop us “mom is still on edge, so keep your group calm, can you do that cowgirl?” he asked and I smiled “Rodger that, cowboy” I gave him a fist bump and he threw a flannel at my face “you left your prized flannel in my room, take it next time” he winked and I shook my head, laughing at the sight of Glenn’s flannel.

“Actually, I think I’ll stay here, guys be good please, I trust them, you can too” I huffed and I grabbed my bag and flannel “we will be, just for you, loyal savior” Luke joked and I laughed. “Your staying cowgirl? I’m surprised” Carl smiled and I shook my head “I’m only staying because” I stopped myself and looked around, the spot by the lake- where Ron died, the gates, the manhole, everywhere I looked there was a memory,

something from my past, our past.

“When I was out there, I found the camp, it was still somewhat in tact, there was flowers growing from Amy’s grave, and the car that Glenn drove the day your dad was found. That’s why I came back, the memories, and I’m staying to make more, with you” I held his hands and he looked at me,

“then we’ll make more, together” he whispered and I smiled.
