the storm

The next day I woke up to Carl and Judith plotting something at the foot of my bed “this is creepy” I groaned and grabbed Judith before she could run, laughed as she yelled in surprise “we’re going to the fair!” she cheered and I widened my eyes looking at Carl “get ready, we’ll meet you down stairs” he smiled and I nodded.

After I got ready we all left, on the road we ran into Daryl, Henry, Lydia, and Connie, “you guys heading to kingdom?” I asked and signed and the four of them got in.

We made it in just enough time to see people about to leave, Kelly ran up the second Connie got out and Carol hugged Henry, and it reminded me how much i hated  reunions “Y/n? Since when have you been back?” the King asked and I smiled “some weeks, I guess I needed time to remember my place here before I publicly announced I was back” I joked and Henry stepped forward “she actually stitched up my leg, and offered us a ride here” he smiled and I brushed it off “I really didn’t do that much” I smiled and the King hugged me “it’s good to have you back nonetheless” he laughed and I smiled “I’ll make sure Judith is safe, you guys obviously have stuff to chat about” I nodded and Michonne nodded.

“So Jude, what was your brother conspiring about?” I asked and she shrugged “I don’t know, he doesn’t tell me anything” she smiled and I rolled my eyes “I think we should go sit with your mom” I smiled and as if on cue Carl found us “they’re signing the paper and they need one last Alexandra signature” he smiled and I made a audible noise of confusion and he hurried us along.

“Y/n, I hope you remember how to sign something!” Michonne called and I shook my head “I can’t, I’m not a leader” I huffed as Henry and Lydia pushed me up the small set of stairs “before the bridge incident I had a talk with Rick, we both knee you would be fit to lead and we were going to give you the sanctuary but for obvious reasons we can’t so, I welcome you to be the official second leader of Alexandria” Michonne handed me the sharpie and I let out a nervous laugh “ok- I mean thank you? I don’t know what to say” I looked around and saw as Carl jumped up to stand besides me “I say you sign it, and quickly I don’t have all day” he whispered and I laughed signing my name,

It was in cursive and caused a chorus of laughter “before everyone disperses I have something j want to say to you” Carl grabbed my hands and I glanced to Judith who had her hands up in her own defense “you left six years ago without a goodbye, and I still have a grudge but, with the permission from the man who raised you your whole life I wanted to ask for a second time if you would do the honors of being my whatever you want to call it?” he asked and I laughed “yes cowboy, now hurry to leave with the first group” I gave him a quick kiss before we all dispersed.

The first group left and I stayed back, I had a gut feeling that something would happen but I shouldn’t worry, I didn’t want to worry, they could take care of themselves.

“You seem worried, you always do when it comes to him” Enid bumped my arm and I smiled “I worry about you too” I laughed and she pulled me to watch like and her boyfriend preform “we’re going to sit together at the movie” Enid laughed and I smiled.

The second departure.

We were attacked and when we woke up we were in a barn, I was beside Enid  and the skin wearers came in, three guys who I had never seen before came in to help us fight, and we started to fight. We helped each other and I felt a piercing pain in my side, “Y/n get down!” Enid yelled and I knife flew right where my head was and I ducked  as she killed the skin wearer.

Then the bald one went for Henry and I pulled her back “no!” I tell and she looked at me with a smile “don’t touch her, I want you to tell your group about what happened tonight, I want you to watch as we kill your friends and family” she whispered and two of the whispers grabbed me as I watched them fall, my family and friends.

Once it was over I was let go, and before I saw the shadow of something hitting me I crawled to Enid’s body and held her sobbing  and looked and Henry beside her “I’m sorry, I’m sorry I couldn’t get loose” I pleaded and then I was hit.

I woke us tied to a tree with Siddiqi beside me yelling and I saw some of the first group running to me and him.

“Carl?” I mumbled and he helped me up and hugged me, Siddiq pointed up the hill and we kept walking up, I was limping as all I had to stop bleeding was a torn shirt around my side.

Ozzy, Alek, D.J., Frankie, Tammy Rose, Rodney, Addy, Enid, Tara, and Henry.

They all had their head cut off and on a spike, “why couldn’t you just let them die, why!” I yelled and fell to the ground and Carl grabbed me.

Later that day

Siddiq was giving a speech and he waved to me “I know this is to honor the ones we lost, but if you don’t know me I’m a fighter and I always have been, but when I tell you that they fought harder than I ever have I mean it, Alpha went for Henry and I tried to stop her I really did but she forced me to watch and her men slaughtered our friends and family! And I know that I’m not supposed to want revenge but she made me sit there bleeding out so that if I died the last thing I would have seen was her taking Enid and Henrys head off with a string, and laughing and I held their bodies and cried!” I yelled as tears started to fall I got off of the stage and left the big crowd and got away from everybody as Siddiq finished.

I sat in the gazebo and cried into my arms “I wanted to check up on you, I know you were close with Henry” Lydia came into the gazebo and I looked up at her with teary eyes “this is probably some first impression of me huh? I’m sitting here crying over your boyfriend” I tried to laugh and instead it was a broken sob “he told me about you, said he used to think you were this bad ass hero of his, he looked up to you” she nodded putting an arm around my shoulder “I’m guessing you heard about the bridge incident?” I asked and she nodded “lots” she laughed and I hugged her “if you need a sister I am available 10:00 am to 11:00 pm Monday through Friday” I joked and she nodded leaving.

“Do you mind if j talk to you?” Alden asked and I shook my head “cant assure you it will be happy” I smiled and he laughed “Enid talked about you a lot, she told me about when you first met and how she was in love at first sight of you” he laughed and I smiled “yeah, she was my best friend after we got over a small argument” I smiled and he offered me a hug “if you ever want to talk, or you need a revenge buddy, I will help you through everything, like a therapist” he assured and I nodded “I feel like I should be saying that” I hugged him again and he smiled.
Some months later.

The kingdom fell and Michonne offered to let them stay in Alexandria, I stayed back because if this winter storm him, we were going to have to keep warm “we can’t leave Negan down there he'll freeze” Eugene said and the three turned to me, Rosita was visibly pregnant now, Gabriel was still being a father and Eugene was Eugene. “right as the daughter I’ll watch him” I groaned and grabbed the gloves and fuzzy socks I made, and the spare beanie and left to the cells.
