“I know you did”

I kissed him softly and we split “I uh, I need to go with Maggie, I’ll talk to you later” I smiled and Carl nodded kissing me on the cheek “that’s new” Maggie smiled when we started to walk and I started to fidget with the ring on my finger “yeah, not long after I came back” I nodded as we kept walking. We decided to talk a stop for shelter and worked on clearing out a space.

Maggie yelled for help and I ran over to help, the two of us plus one of her men got it shut. After my watch I headed back to my container and sat, “hey, sorry it took me a second to get here” Kelly sat down beside me “hey” I mumbled with a smile and she put a hand on my shoulder and I scooted closer to her “it’s ok you know that right? I’m not mad at you for what happened to Connie” she smiled and I nodded “if I could have just got her out, I know I could have gotten her out” I shook my head and Kelly hugged me “you could barely walk, let alone pull someone out of a cave” she joked and I let out a little laugh, we were closer than we expected and one thing happened after another and she kissed me, when she pulled away from it she hurried to stand “I’m sorry, I should go” she hurried out and I stood to leave after her but by the team I reached the door she wasn’t there.

The next morning I woke up to my door opening and I sat up tiredly “Daryl?” I asked and he helped me up “we’re heading out, let’s go” he informed and I nodded. Kelly wondered off and when we found her she kept her distance from me, we saw smoke and Maggie went running, all of us followed.

We all left to find Hershel, Daryl and I led the way tracking “you’ve gotten good at this” Daryl nodded and I smiled “the tracks split, I lost Hershel” I looked up at the other and Maggie advised we split up, Daryl and I would go with her. We found some of Maggie’s people and one of them got shot, we all took off in a sprint and tried to find where the bullets were coming from, they were trying to pick us off one by one, there was only one shooter, and Maggie was going to flank him, Daryl and I kept his attention ahead, I saw someone going for Maggie and I shot him, Daryl ran for him and got knocked out I shot him again and hit him near the heart.
He reached over and pulled something, showing it was a grenade pin “Get down!” Maggie yell and Daryl pushed me down and covered my ears, after the bomb went off I looked over at Daryl “you ok?” he asked and I nodded, when he got up he kept my eyes away from looking at the exploded body on the ground, soon enough we were off again looking for Hershel in two groups.

Maggie was whistling and something hit her head, when she looked up there was a little boy that resembled Glenn sitting in a tree “hey mom!” he smiled kicking his feet “that’s him?” I asked and she nodded and he climbed down “Hershel this is your aunt,” “Y/n?” he asked and I smiled “hey dude” I smiled, my eyes started to water, he had a baseball hat like mine on.

We were walking, looking for a place to rest and I was falling behind Daryl and Maggie talking to Hershel “my mom said you were close to my dad, is that true?” he asked and I smiled fixing the hat on my head “yep! He was like my older brother, he gave me this hat when I was little, about 11 or 12” I took the hat off my head and he noticed the picture inside “who are they?” he asked and I looked at the picture “that’s your dad, Glenn, my friends dad Rick, and one of Rick’s close friends Shane, and Rick’s wife Lori” I put the picture back in the hat and smiled at him “we’re they your group?” he asked and I nodded “there were a lot of us, I have photos all over my walls back home of that group” he stopped and looked over at me “can I see them?” he asked an I nodded “yeah, you can see them” he smiled and started to jump in excitement. A while later he had gotten tired so I put him on my back letting Daryl carry my crossbow, “tomorrow we can reach Alexandra, we can rest in the storage containers tonight” I whispered softly bouncing on my feet to keep Hershel asleep.

After putting him to bed Maggie came out of the container to find me “your good with kids” she joked and I laughed “well in between Judith, Carl, Coco, RJ, and every other kid, I’ve had my practice” I smiled and she tilted her head “you still haven’t had one of your own?” she asked and I shrugged “a girl can try” I laughed and she placed a hand on my shoulder “don’t worry, it'll come when you least expect it to” she smiled and I nodded “I should go rest, we have a long walk tomorrow” I gave her a nod and she nodded back. The next morning we had reached Alexandra, and the walls were destroyed thanks to the whispers “Maggie, Hershel, I can show you guys to where you can stay, hopefully this place will be in better shape past the walls” I smiled feeling hands hit my shoulder and I let out a yell “welcome back” Rosita laughed and I turned “not funny, I can put you behind bars for that” I warned and she smiled nodded at Maggie and Hershel, then hands grabbed my waist and spun me around “took you longer than expected” Carl kissed my cheek and I laughed “take Maggie and Hershel to the house they can stay in, and her people, I need to talk with my dad and the members of the council that are present” he nodded and kissed me goodbye, ad I walked away I could faintly hear him talking to Hershel.

“Dad, you stay away from Maggie until the heat simmers please, the last thing I want to deal with is your problems with her, so just be good” I huffed and he saluted me “rodger that, hey can we talk?” he asked and I huffed “after you finish your shift, I have a meeting and I need a shower so yes at some point” I turned and I could hear him running up behind me “I need to talk to you now kid, I’m worried” Negan placed a hand on my shoulder and I turned around “I’m fine ok, I don’t need you to constantly hover over me, I’m here for you and you’re here for me if things go bad, nos seriously I need to go” I huffed hugging him quickly and leaving him to stand.
