missing brother

y/n is 12 ish (I forgot how short chapter 1 was 😭)

“hey guys stay where Dale can see you ok, I’m going to head out” she instructed us and we both nodded “ok Mrs. Grimes” I gave her a thumbs up and she laughed lightly ruffling my shorter hair.

“I’m just saying it’s only been barely a day I’m sure they’ll be back soon” Dale said as I made my way up the ladder to sit with him “they would be back by now, something is wrong!” I exclaimed and he chuckled.

“They’re smart, it’s probably just a knot in the rope situation” he patted my head and I nodded.

“How about you go talk to Carl, I’ll let you know as soon as we get eyes” he smiled and I climbed down sitting beside Carl.

A couple of hours later

The walkie went off and my ears perked up.

They were trapped.

“Shane I refuse to let my brother die out there, he’s all I have!” I yelled and Carl ran up to me “it’s ok, he won’t die they’re just trapped” he patted my shoulder and I huffed.

Hours later

I was sitting beside Shane laughing at Carl getting his hair cut.

A car alarm started to blare and I ran to where I could see.

A red car pulled up and I covered my ears until it stopped and I looked up waiting for him to see me.

Everyone was bombarding him with questions until he spot me “your alive!” I yelled and he ran to me picking me up in the tightest hug possible.

“I stayed alive just for you, I really needed that smile of yours right now!” He exclaimed as I laughed.

A truck pulled up next and I let out a sigh knowing it was the others.

Glenn kept me in his arms as everyone reunited with their family “hey, no need to get all upset you have an odd little trade off deal ok and as long as your in my arms you have all the family you will ever need” he kissed my head and I nodded blinking back tears as I looked over to see a cop get out of the truck.

Then Carl ran to him and I smiled knowing he found his family.

That night

I wrapped my arms around my knees shivering, regretting my loss of hair.

“Maybe I s-should break the news to him, it’d sound better coming from his partial s-sister” my voice shaking as I did the cold getting to me.

“Your not his sister anymore than you are Glenn’s you’ll have just as much as an issue” Shane said shaking his head “I get it I don’t have a family you don’t have to rub it in every chance you get” I huffed leaving the circle to the RV roof.

It was far enough from the fire that they couldn’t really see the face I was crying and I had a great view of the stars.

“hey, Shane didn’t mean it like that” Carl sat beside me crossing his legs “did he tell you to say that?” I questioned wiping my face “no, I said it on my own accordion” I let out a small laughed at his mispronunciation “it’s accord, but good job” he wrapped his arm around my shoulder in a half hug to keep me somewhat warm.

Ricks pov

“They must be close?” I asked and everyone laughed “they basically have a blood pact to never leave each others side, we all have bet on who asks who out” Shane joked and I laughed “what’s the girls deal anyway?” I asked and they looked to Glenn.
