, A year had passed, and the boys were walking and talking more. We were getting ready to celebrate their 1-year-old birthday. Connor was at work and I was still in bed on my lab top looking at a few more gifts to get the boys. The boys didn't wake up when I looked. I finished checking out the gifts and then got out of bed. I open the door and seen the front door was open just a little. "Weird. Did Connor not close it all the way?" I thought to myself. I walked to the door and closed it. Something in me didn't feel right. I walked to the boy's room and see their door was open. We normally keep it close. I open the door slowly and looked at the cribs. I saw their blankets. It looked like they could be under the blankets. "Good morning, boys." I said, walking up to one crib. The crib was empty when I took the blanket out. I rushed to the other crib and took the blanket out of that one. I ran to my room grabbed my phone.
, Jay- Hey Lily,
, Me- Jay, it the boys. They're gone.
, Jay- what?
, Me- I looked in their room their gone.
, Jay hangs up the phone with me and then texts me to call Connor now. I go to Connor's name on my phone and the phone start ringing.
, Connor- Lily, I cant talk. Everything okay?"
, Me-Their gone."
,Connor- What who?"
, Me- The boys, No, no, no this can't be happening. Connor, where are they?"
Connor tries to calm me down and tells me he is on his way. Jay was on his way, I told him. Connor tells me he will be there soon after I hear him talking to someone. I hang out the phone and went back to the room looking for something. I looked everywhere and couldn't see anything. Some of their clothes are gone when I look in the drawers. I walked out of the room feeling sick and a little dizzy. There was a piece of paper in the kitchen. I grab it and saw it was a note to me.
NOTE:
You have done this to yourself. I told you that you should keep your children close. This is payback. Hope you like how it feels to lose a child as I did.
I place the paper back on the island. I heard Jay at the door and see Adam with him. "Lily, what's going on?" We walked to the living room and sat on the couch. "I got up a little early to shop a little more for their birthday. And I looked noticing that it was a little past the time they normally would be up. I walked out of the room and noticed the front door was open and just thought it was Connor. That he may have left the door open by accident." I felt the tears come down my face. I took a deep breath and went on. "Then I went to their room and even their room was open. We always keep it shut. I knew something was wrong. I checked the cribs, and they were gone. My babies are gone."
Few moments later I hear Connor running in. "Lily." Adam asked Connor some questions, and then they both came to me. I remember the note and gave it to Adam. He looks at it and then pits it in a zit lock bag. "Who is it from?" I took a deep breath. "Ray's Mom." Connor and Jay looked surprised. I explained everything. The letters, when I ran into her and he coming to the house. Connor was upset with me not telling him. " I didn't think." It sank in that this was my fault. I let this happen to my babies. My heart started to race and my breath became shallow. I grabbed on to Connor and stumbled back. "Lily!" Connor looked at me and see I was starting to have a panic attack.
He placed me gently up against the wall and had me look at him. " Deep breath Lily." He looked at Jay and Adam. "Call the ambulance." He looked back at me and saw it wasn't helping. I fell to the floor and Connor placed me against the wall. "Come on Lily deep breath. give me one deep breath." I squeeze his hand needing him to help me. I couldn't get the breath I needed. Then my head started to hurt and the room began to spin. Then everything went dark.
