Chapter 23

Connor and I was standing in the hospital  waiting to see Maverick. Dr.Choi and April was looking after him. Jay had called Will and he was on his way. My mind was racing with where Elijah was. I felt sick and her voice replaying in my head about him. That he was gone, my baby boy was gone. Connor had his arm around me and holding me. I watched Maverick moving around and smiling at April. He had no idea that he had gone missing. He had no idea that his father and mother had been worried sick and how I cried and hadn't eaten. And I was glad about it. "You guys can you in know." Dr.Choi said walking out.

Connor looked at me and we both walked in. April had him in her arms and talking to him. I walked up to her and looked at Maverick. "Oh my sweet boy. Mommy has missed you so so much." I reached for him and held him tight. Connor walked in front of me and placed his hand on his head then held his little finger. I looked up at Connor and couldn't help but cry, I kissed Connor and he held us two. "We have to find Elijah. We have to get our family whole again." He kissed my head saying "I know."

Thirty minutes had past and Connor was talking to Jay and Will. I was sitting in the rocking chair holding Maverick. I couldn't let him go. Connor hadn't even held him yet. Will walks in and walks up to me and Maverick. "I'm so sorry Lily. Jay is going to talk to her more and see if he can get any more information about Elijah." I looked up at Will. "He's alive I can feel it." Will looks at Maverick and then at me then leaves the room. It was just me and him again. "I will never let you out of my sight again." Dr.Choi walks back in and checks on us both. "He looks good Lily. I don't see anything on him and he looks healthy." I run my finger across his forehead and over his chunky cheeks, they were so soft and he was sound asleep. "It feels like I'm dreaming. I can't help but to few his face just to make sure he is real and I'm awake." Choi place his hand on my shoulder. "He's here Lily. Your not asleep and it's not a dream."

Connor and his dad Cornelius walks in and greets me. Then his sister Claire walks in  soon after. They were talking but I was paying attention to what they were saying. I closed my eyes for a second and then felt someone take him from my arms. I quickly open my eyes and see Connor trying to take him. "No." I said quickly and grabbed him back. "Lily your tired. You need to get some rest. He will be fine, he's not going anywhere." I was tired but the thought of sleeping and him not here scares me. "No I'm fine."

The next day came and I hadn't slept much. Connor was on the bed asleep. Maverick was in his baby bed sound asleep. I got up to stretch and walk around the room. Ms. Goodwin came to the door and knocked. "Good morning Lily, I was just checking seeing how you were." I smiled at her and thanked her. "We're fine I said looking at Maverick and Connor. I felt her place her hand on mine "Lily you look tired did you get any sleep?" Smiled and said "a little." Ms. Goodwin smiled and handed me some coffee and left. I sat back in the chair and drink my coffee before anyone woke up.
