Chapter 37

"Oh come on Lily. One night isn't going to kill you." Rolling my eyes shaking my head "Maggie I have the boys and I can't leave Connor with both of them. He'll grow grey hair faster then we both want." I laughed pushing the desk chair away from the computer. "You need a girls night out Lily. Hell i need a girls night." Maggie smiled leaning against the desk with her arms crossed. Shaking my head realizing there was no getting out of this i finally agreed. "Okay, okay. But just two hours then I'm going back home. " Maggie didn't say another word but then smiling like she won a competition. Being super proud of herself.

"Help! We need a doctor!" I looked at the ambulance bay and say a couple rushing in. "Dr.Halstead!" Maggie yelled. I quickly got over to the couple helping the lady to a room. "I'm with Will!" I told Maggie. She nods and a few more nurses come in. " Ma'am. Can you tell me what happened?" We got her on the bed and started looking her over. "I was walking down the street and I felt a push and all of a sudden I fell. I don't remember why or what happened." I pulled out an IV and then put the heart monitor on. "Miss can you tell me your name?" Will asked checking her head seeing that blood was coming out and then checking her legs noticing that she had a few spots as well. "Grace."

Forty minutes went by and all Grace needed was a few stitches for the head wounds and the leg wounds will heal nicely. Will and I left the room and I walked over to the next room with the patient. That day was busy seeing lots of patients every hour. Seeing Will and Nat every so often and then Connor when we had a serious case. The day was finally coming to an end and I still needed to tell Connor about tonights girls night.

I walked to the elevator and went to his floor. "Hey Sofie, is Dr.Rhodes in surgery?" I asked one of the nurses. She looks at the schedule and then back to me. "No, he's just finishing rounds. Should be on his way back." I smiled thanking her. I walked over to the window that had a sofa bench. The sun had set and it was dark. I was glad the day was over. I wanted to go out but I also really wanted to spend time with Connor and my babies.

"You know Dr.Rhodes if you don't feel up to the challenge I can most definitely take the lead on this one?" Looking you I see Dr.Bekker and Connor talking. " Dr.Bekker thanks but I have this. I'm not worry about that case and neither is Dr.Latham. If he was, he would be the one talking to be." Connor had had placed his hands in his pockets and started to rock back and forth. The signal I knew he was getting irritated. "Look Connor I just wanted to let you know I'm here for you if you need anything." She starts to say putting her hand on his arm. " I understand this is a hard case. So if you need anything just ask." She grazed his arm bring her hand back to her size. I stood up as I was started to get irritated. "But I know just how much of a good surgeon you are. I'm just here to help." She smiled and started walking my way.

I took a few steps forward as she reached the elevator where ahead was standing. "Lily I don't notice you were here. You must be waiting on Connor." She fake smiled. I could hear Connor making his way up to us. "Don't ever lay your hands on my Fiancé. You are his colleague that's it." I step closer so we are face to face. " and you better get the idea out of your head that you have any chance with him." Noticing the elevator open she leans forward and whispers "you're not married yet." She smiles and steps into the elevator. "Have a good nice Lily. See you tomorrow Dr.Rhodes." Then the doors closed.

My heart is beating fast and I am fuming. I wanted to slap her. Why didn't I slap her! I start to walk to the stairs but Connor stops me. "Hey,hey, hey. Lily not worth it." He walks me back over where I was sitting and we sit for a moment. "Come on calm down. You know she just likes getting under your skin." I now he didn't know what she said but I knew he heard me. We sat in silence for a moment then I remembered why I came up here. "Look Connor I was supposed to." He cuts me off and smiles " go on a girls night out with Maggie and the others." I smiled knowing he told him. "Go you need the time out with them and I can take care of the boys." He looks up and kisses me "even if they do give me grey hair. I think I still look hot in grey." My eyes go wide as he said that. And we both began to laugh. "Let me change and I'll walk you out."

I sit a little longer as Connor was changing. The floor was quieter than the ED and that I did miss. Connor walks out wearing his black jeans, black shirt and black jacket. He had his bag in his hand. I sit back admiring him. He tilted his head giving me a look. "What?" He smiles. I stand up and wrap my arms around him giving him a kiss, then pull away slightly then he kisses me back. "Just thinking . Dang I have a hot fiancé." He laughed and kissed me again.

Maggie, April and Natalie were waiting as we were walking out. "Finally I'm ready for some drinks." April said. We all laughed and I kissed Connor once more. "You sure you can handle the boys. You've had a long day. And they are a handful." Connor shakes his head. "Go relax some you need it. Just think of it as this. You're going on a girl night out and us boys are having a boys night in." I smiled and finally gave in. "Plus, Will, Jay, and Owen will be there." I smiled and kissed him once more. "Oh boy. If that's not a troubling phase I don't know what is?" Natalie laughed out loud agreeing. "Right!"

We finally made it to Molly's and we took a seat. And got a few rounds and Natalie got water. The place was already packed and a few people standing. I grabbed two more shots then decided on a mix drink. We talked about work and April's relationship with Dr.Choi. I felt the warm of the drinks hit me as I became tipsy thirty minutes later. I down my mix drink quickly and then wanted to go get another. This was definitely a night I needed.

"Okay come on love we got to go." Maggie helped me up on to my feet. Five shots in and two mix drinks definitely reminded me of my age. Or at least tomorrow will. I looked over my shoulder as I went to grab my purse but Natalie had grabbed it be I could. "W-what you droing with my b-bag." April open the door for us . "Come in Connor wouldn't be happy if I let you drive home in this state." I closed my eyes as the world around me began to spin. I held to Maggie as she steady me and took me to Natalie car.

Natalie drove me back home and helped me out. "She wants him Nat. She is actually flirting with him in front of me." I feet wasn't able to walk straight and I hit the side of the wall. "Lily. Come on let get you in and have you rest." I rolled my eyes as she wasn't listening. "No, Natalie! She wants him. Dr.Bekker will do anything. She even told me." We get to the door and we could hear the guys talking and laughing. " she flirted with right in front of me today." I felt my heart fall as the memory come to me. "Lily you have nothing to worry about he love you. He has his kids with you. He picked you."

The door opens and the guys were standing in the kitchen. Natalie helped me to the couch as I heard Jay and Will talk. "Dang haven't seen her like this since college." Jay said. "She's not going to be feeling the best tomorrow that's for sure." Will said after. "Guys!" Natalie said hitting Will in the arm. "We should be going and let you take care of Lily." Natalie smiled to Connor and they all headed to the door. "Connor you need to talk to her." Natalie said stopping at the door. "Okay. Thanks Nat."

I looked up at the ceiling as I tried to figure out if the fan was spinning or was it just me. Having to force my eye closed so I wouldn't pile every where I finally felt to urge to sleep. "Come on Lily." Connor slowly pushed his arms under me to pick me up. "No Connor let sleep out here." I slowly open my eyes as I see him laughing. "You're coming to bed. You're going to feel like shit tomorrow."
