My eyes slowly open as light was shinning through a small piece of the window shade. As my eyes stayed open a little longer the headache began to make its self known. I slowly sat up and even that made it worse. Which also brought on the nausea. I looked over to the night stand and saw the clock say 1:20 pm. I had slept the whole morning away. I was thankful that I had off anyways today. Beside the clock I saw a glass of water with two pills by them. Smiling that you absolutely can't take the doctor out of a doctor once they are home. Connor had always had a knack for taking care of people. He loved it. Taking the pills I slowly stood out of bed I began to feel the room spin and I sat back down. "Man I really drank a lot last night." I thought to myself. I try again to stand up and this time no spinning. Or at least not as severe.

The place was quiet which I was thankful for but also curious to where my boys were and Connor. I made my way to the kitchen when I saw Connor sitting in his chair with a book in hand. He hadn't realized that I had walked in yet. I made myself known clearing my throat. "Well hello." I shh Connor to lower his voice. He marked his page and placed his book on the table that was beside his chair and made his way over. "Too loud?" He smiled kissing my head. "A tad bit. Yeah." We walked over to the couch and he sat beside me once I took my spot. "You had a good night then?" Trying to remember the light, but only the first hour was remembered." Yeah I think so. At least the first hour that I can remember." I stated laughing slightly. Connor smiled and got up to go to the kitchen. "Where are the boys? It quiet." Connor brought back a glass of a drink and toast. "I had Claire to come pick them up. She had missed them and I thought it would be a great time for us to talk. Since we both are off today." I slowly placed the toast back on the plate after the bite. "Talk. What about?"

Connor straightens up and move his body some. So he was facing me. "Nat told me we needed to talk. So, let's talk." I sat for a moment thinking of what Natalie was referring to." I thought for a moment trying to remember more of last night. "Did I tell her of what happened with Ava?" I hoped I hadn't but I believe I had. I closed my eyes for a second and took a breath. "I'm tired Connor." I went to stand but felt his hand gently grab my wrist. Looking down he had a worried expression. "Lily, something is going on. You never get drunk and sleep in like this. Please just tell me." He was right I don't get drunk like I did last night. But I really had a headache and I really wanted to go back to bed. "We will talk I promise. But I'm tired and my head hurts. Let talk tonight." Connor stood up with his hand still on my wrist. I looked up to him as he looked down.  He brings his hand up to my cheek gently rubbing it. "Okay. But we will talk tonight." He brings me into his chest and kisses my head. Is cologne makes me slightly nauseous again.

He lefts my face up to look at him once more, then place his lips on mine. He walks me to our room and he put me back into bed "I'll have Claire keep the boys tonight. And we can pick them up tomorrow." We kiss once more as I close my eyes. I knew he had to get to work soon anyways so I was okay with the boys staying with their aunt.

It was 8at night when I finally woke back up. The sun was down and I had literally slept my day away. I got up and walked to the kitchen I was now hungry and need some food. The silence was odd as I walked to the main room. The place was dark with only the small lights that we placed under the cabinets. I turn the lights on and went to the refrigerator. A smile came across my face when I saw a plate wrapped in plastic with food. " he's too good for me" I thought. I turn on some music placing the volume on soft and then proceeds to eat.

Hours had passed and I decided to go for a walk. Even though it was close to midnight I needed to get out and move. I grabbed my keys and put my hair up in a messy bun. I wrote Connor a note just in case he got off earlier and I wasn't back yet, then headed out. The building was quiet and felt still. With no one walking around, talking or hearing any kind of TV.

The cool air hits my face as I step out. Luckily we were on a better part of Chicago or I definitely wouldn't be doing this. The city was still bright with lights but few people. I walked down the block seeing only a few late nighter people and cops patrolling. Some I knew because of Jay so we had small chats. I made my way to the park and it was so calming. But till I heard a cry. Looking around I didn't see anyone at first. "Hello! Say something!" I stood still trying to hear it again. My heart began to race and my breathing sped up. "Hello!" Hearing the cry once more I walked closer to it. "Hel." Finally seeing a young male laying on the ground looked to be hurt. "Don't move." I tell him as I finally seen the blood. "What's your name?" I asked pulling his shirt up some to see where the blood was coming from.

"Luke." He whisper. I grabbed my phone to call for help and turn the flash light on from it. Three stab wounds was what I could see but could be more. "Shhh, I got you. Try not to move, okay." He looked to be around 19 or 20. He was young that's for sure.

"911, what's your emergency?"
"This is Lily I'm a nurse at Chicago med, I have a stabbing victim with 3 stab wounds. Need police and Ambulance."
"Okay Lily, is he awake?
"Yes, he is conscious. But barely."
I told her where we were and waited for the others. It felt like hours but I knew it had only been, 2minutes since I got off the phone with the operator. "Help is on the way. Just awake for me." Luke was closing his eyes which was making me worried. I kept my hands on his wounds but I had no idea how long he had been bleeding out. "I'm not going to make it." Luke said as small amounts of blood was coming out of his mouth. Finally I heard the sirens and people running up. "See they are here stay with me. Please keep your eyes open."

Luke was slipping in and out as we got him in the ambulance. "I'll come with you." I said to one of the paramedics he agreed and I jumped in. "We will meet you there." A cop said as the door was closing. I helped place the IV and the paramedics took the vitals and than gave Luke some medicine. "I don't want to die. Please don't let me die." I grabbed his hand and squeeze it. "I got gotcha Luke. I promise we are going to help you." The bleeding wasn't slowing so I knew most likely something serious was nicked. I apply more pressure and added more gauze as the blood was starting to seep through. "Shit! I need more. I can't slow it down." The paramedic handed me more and finally I felt the ambulance stop.

The doors open and I went to get out and my hand slip "shit! Hold on!" I quickly got on top of Luke and apply more pressure. "Go!" They quickly got us out of the ambulance and into the ED. "Maggie!" She was already making her way over as she noticed it was me on top of Luke. "3 stab wounds that I noticed. Lost lots of blood. One is close to the artery. He keeps going in and out." Maggie look around to see the doctors and saw Dr.Choi and then Doris. "Dr.Choi your up. Doris go with Dr.Choi."

I slowly go off Luke as Dr.Choi took over and Doris placed extra gauze. I grabbed the meds Dr.Choi was ordering for Luke. I slowly stepped back as I heard the flat line and Dr.Choi quickly yelled for the shock petals. Doris got on my side and started compressions, I looked at them both and felt guilt rise up in me. Maybe this was my fault since my hand slipped. My hand shouldn't have slipped.

"Time of death. 10:25." I looked up at Dr.Choi. I stepped forward to Luke, he had the heart monitors on. Blood slowly coming out of the stab wounds. And his left hand was off the bed. My body was numb and nauseous all at the same time. I felt as if I failed him. I gently placed his hand back on the bed and placed a sheet over him. "I'm so sorry." I whispered. I wasn't the one to stab him. But I felt I was the one to kill him.
