(Y/n's POV)

I hide behind a pillar, a hand over my mouth to try and silence my breathing.

"What is it Loki? What have you got in here?"

"I told you brother, there's no-one here. Nothing here. You can see for yourself."

"You're the God of Mischief. Now, whatever spell you've done, I suggest you reverse it."

"I haven't done anything."

Thor turns and grabs him by the throat, lifting his feet off the ground. Loki's eyes flicker over to me for a split second, and I can see the panic written across his face, and it's the only indicator Thor needs.

He drops Loki to the ground and comes stalking over to me, and as soon as he's within touching distance, I reach out and send a few hundred volts of electricity through his body, causing him to fall to the floor.

"Thank you darling," Loki stands and adjusts his collar.

I nod once, then find a new place to conceal myself before another arrives.

(Stark's POV)

"What. The hell. Is that?"

I look up to the sky just as a huge cyber-creature flies through the newly opened portal.

"It's like a.... space eel."

"Space eel? Really?"

"Oh I'm sorry Rogers, what would you call it?"

Silence.

"Yeah. That's what I thought. Where's Banner by the way? He showed up yet?"

"Banner?"

I roll my eyes, which I really wish they could see, "Just keep me posted. 'Kay?"

(Y/n's POV)

Thor groans as he pushes himself into a standing position.

I don't know if he knows it was me or not, but I should still stay hidden just in case.

He walks over to the window, staring at the destruction of the city below.

"Look at this," he says to his brother. "Look around you. You think this madness will end with your rule?"

"It's too late brother. It's too late to stop it."

"No. We can stop it. Together."

What seems like a sweet moment between two brothers is cut short when Loki plunges a knife into Thor's side.

He looks over to the space where I once was, before jumping off the platform, landing on one of the Chitauri's aircrafts that was passing below.

He flies off with a troop of the Chitauri following behind.

(Stark's POV)

"Uh guys? I thought there was just one space eel, but I was very wrong. There's a few."

"I've got one on my side," Rogers says in my ear.

"Me and Barton have one too, but we've got it covered. We couldn't get to Loki."

"Don't worry, we'll get him. Rogers? Need a hand?"

"You're offering to help someone other than yourself? My god, never thought I'd see the day."

Regardless of how many creatures he's fighting right now, I can practically hear his sarcastic grin.

"I'll take that as a yes. I'm coming for you Cap."

(Romanoff's POV)

Clint and I are surrounded by the Chitauri. I've got my guns, he's got half the arrows he started with.

"Just like Budapest huh?" I grin to him.

"Nat, you and I remember Budapest very differently."

I activate the Widow's Bite on my suit as the creatures circle us, inching closer and closer.

"You ready?"

We're stood back to back and ready to fight, just like old times.

"Always."

(Rogers' POV)

I nod to Thor as he jumps from Stark Tower down to the ground.

"What's the story upstairs?" I ask him through the earpiece.

"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable. Also, I'm sure Loki is hiding something up there."

"Like what?"

"I don't know."

"Like a weapon?"

"I don't know! I just know it shocked me really bloody well."

"What, it surprised you?"

"No! Like an electrical shock."

"What did you say?" Stark's voice is sharp in my ear.

"I said whatever Loki is hiding up there gave me a strong electric shock. But whatever it is, it can wait."

"Right. Yeah, you're right," he says, but he sounds a bit shaky. "We gotta deal with these guys."

"How do we do that?" Romanoff asks.

I know there's only one way we can do this properly, "Together."

"I have unfinished business with Loki," says Thor.

Barton sounds sharp, "Oh yeah? Get in line."

"Save it! Loki's gonna keep this fight on us and that's what we need. Without him around, these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he's gonna need us to-"

I'm cut off by the roar of an engine.

(Banner's POV)

I look around, less shocked than I thought I'd be at the mess of the city.

"So.... this all seems horrible."

"I've seen worse," a familiar voice says behind me.

"Sorry," I say sheepishly as I turn to face Nat.

"No. We could use a little 'worse' right now."

"Stark," Rogers addresses him over the earpiece. "We got him."

"Banner?"

"Yeah. Just like you said."

"Tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you."

"Tell me to what?" I ask.

"Suit up," Rogers confirms.

"Ah. You mean....."

"We need the big guy," Nat says calmly. "Think you can bring him out for us?"

(Y/n's POV)

I feel like a spectator, watching everything unfold beneath me. A chill spreads through me as I see Bruce Banner transform into the Hulk once again, and he tears apart the Leviathan like it's a piece of paper.

I should be helping.

But they never helped me, so why should I?

I don't know which side to fight for.

If I help Loki, the Avengers will fall and New York will be demolished. If I help the Avengers, we'll save the city and Loki will be taken back to Asgard as a prisoner. He saved me, surely I can't do that to him. But I can save more people if I help the Avengers than if I help him.

I don't want to do this.

I have to.
