Part 28: Familiar face

          You wish you could see him because in truth you really did miss him. You missed all of them, they'd become a second family to you. But Shoto had a special place in your heart. The way he reminded you of Tenko. You use to think they'd get along so well. You were happy he seemed to break free of his father. He was so smart and kind and grew up to be a fine hero in training. You let out a sigh as you watch the ice twinkle in the night.

"I'm proud of you Shoto, I hope you get everything you fight for."

          You watch as something which looks like people flew off the edge of the ice. Bakugou flew up into the air and connected with the others in the sky. You let out your breath smiling softly.

"Thank goodness."

You creep up closer hoping to see more. You see more heroes swarm around taking down other members of the League. At that moment you see the swirling purple guy laying on the ground. Next to him was another person but you couldn't make out who it was. You squint your eyes counting all the members and sigh realizing it was probably Dabi.

"You better be alive you asshole or I'm gonna be so pissed."

The members scuttle around before being sucked into the purple guy's warp gate. You groan softly as you duck back behind the building.

"This is the most annoying game of tag ever. Maybe I should have just joined them that way I could keep better tabs."

You scoff softly before getting up and taking off away from the battle.

        You enter the bar heading over to your booth. All the Shadows poke their heads out at you. Looks of relief on their faces as they see you. Mizu gets up walks over to you and hugging you.

"I'm so glad you made it back."

You chuckle nervously caught off guard by her sudden attitude.

"I'm fine."

"Did you save that boy?"

You smile sadly as you think of Shoto's ice.

"No, but his friends came for him. He's out of the Leauge's hands."

Sterusu speaks up.

"Why did ya go there? We anin't in the business of savin' people."

"I wasn't going to look the other way if I might have been the only one to help that kid. Just because I've been labeled a villain doesn't mean I am one."

"Ya steal stuff and kill people that threaten ya."

You shrug your shoulders.

"I can say I agree with what Stain was trying to do. This hero society is corrupt and needs to be torn down."

Sterusu scoffs crossing his arms.

"Ya sayin' ya agree with Shigaraki? He ain't someone we should affiliate with."

"I need to keep an eye on him. He could be a very big problem in the future. Besides he's been making waves already."

"Yeah, that ain't a bad thing though since it means ya ain't gettin' all the attention now."

"I have you to thank for that, not Shigaraki."

Sterusu snickers and puffs his chest (he was the one who created an illusion of the Black Ice Villain. I was too lazy to make a scene about this so now you know). Catch looks at you curiously speaking up.

"Did any of them get caught?"

"I don't think so, but it was hard to tell. I didn't get too close because of how many heroes were around. Anyway, Kage, I need you to use your quirk on Shigaraki."

He raises an eyebrow at you as he leans back in the booth.

"Want me to kill him?"

"No just locate him."

Kage heads to the back, and you follow close behind.

        He steps into his room and puts his hand out. You take the small camera you had on your coat off and hand it to him. He rewinds the video until it showed Shigaraki. He closes his eyes and activates his quirk (Kage-quirk: Life force-as long as he knows what a person looks like he can locate their life force anywhere in the world. Kills the person in five minutes if he stays concentrated on their life force. Causes Kage severe headaches). He opens his eyes and starts rubbing the sides of his temple.

"They're in Esuha City."

"That's pretty far from here."

"Why are you looking for him?"

"I need to keep an eye on him."

"Well, that doesn't make sense. We can deal with them when we need to."

You pinch the bridge of your nose with your pointer finger and thumb.

"Kage just keep an eye on his location. Radio me every 20 minutes."

"Are you going to try and work with him?"

"Oh my god Kage, he's my little brother okay! I don't have time for 20 questions I just want to find him. I don't want to lose him again."

Kage binks at you clearly confused.

"Do the-."

"No, and it's staying like that. Now shut your mouth and do your damn job."

"Yes, boss."

You let out an irritated grunt and turn on your heels leaving the room.

         You shove your hands in your pockets and storm down the street. You hoped Dabi was okay. He hasn't sent a threatening text yet so he's either still face down on some floor or too busy to bother. You keep your head down as you shift through the crown. You accidentally bump into someone and mumble sorry as you look up. Your heart nearly stops in your chest as your stomach drops. You take a step back, shocked at who you were looking at. You cock your head to the side as they look back stunned.

"Aiko?"

"N-Natsuo?" How many Todoroki's am I going to run into tonight?

"I, uh, I mean what are you doing here?"

"I'm heading home from class."

You feel the corners of your mouth try to tug up.

"You're going to college now?"

He rubs the back of his head as he laughs lightly.

"Yeah, it has been a long time since I've seen you. How have you been?"

Oh, I'm living the life, just narrowly escaped being caught by heroes while trying to save a U-A student from the League of Villains. Sorry but your brother is kinda with them. Oh yeah, by the way, your brother is alive.

"Um, I've been doing alright."

"I'm happy I saw you again. I didn't know what happened to you-."

His eyes darken as he looks at the ground. You felt a sharp pain in your chest as he goes quiet. You wished you could tell him everything that was going on. Wishes you could sit down and talk with him like you use to. He looks back up at you putting on a smile.

"You should come over sometime. Enji isn't around much so we practically have the house to ourselves. I'm sure Fuyumi would love to see you also. I'm sure she'd love to catch up as well."

You smile at Natsou hiding the pain in your eyes.

"I'd love to Natsuo, but um, my life is kinda crazy so I might not make it."

"Here let me get your phone number, that way we can stay in touch."

That is the worst idea in the world. You should stay the hell away from me, like forever. Actually, scratch that, forget I even exist.

"Sure."

You take Natsuo's phone and put your number in his contacts. You hand it back smiling at him.

"It really is nice to see you doing well Natsuo."

"You too."

Ha if you even knew the half of it.
