Day 3: Wednesday

---

Amelia woke up to Owen gently caressing her back. She slowly opened her eyes as she smiled at him. The last time she had slept this well had been after the second time they had had sex and had decided to take a nap together after.

"Good morning.", the brunette mumbled sleepily and raised her head a little to peck his lips. "That is such a nice way to wake up. And your hair is shimmering in the sun.", she noticed, softly stroking her crush's head.

"Good morning.", the redhead grinned at her. "I really like waking up next to you too.", he admitted and leaned in to give her another kiss. "How did you sleep?", he wondered, opening his arms for her to snuggle into him.

"Is that even a question? I've slept like a baby.", Amelia answered, caressing his chest. "Even after the ten minutes I have seen of the horror movie yesterday.", she added as a joke, hearing him chuckle.

"Well, I'll take that as a compliment.", Owen flirted, causing her to be the one who giggled now. "What's so funny?", he laughed with his crush, nuzzling her nose with his as she rolled herself on top of him and sat up.

"You are.", the brunette replied as if it was obvious. The redhead also sat up to be eye to eye with her. "This feels so unreal.", she realized, wrapping her arms around his neck, still beaming at him. "So great, but therefore so unreal."

"Just because it's good doesn't mean it's unreal.", her crush reminded her softly, scanning her eyes for a reaction. She looked unsure. "Did you ever...have feelings for another person before?", he curiously asked.

"No.", came Amelia's immediate answer as she shook her head. "You know through Derek that I have...serious issues.", she said, looking ashamed now as she glanced down at her hands in between them.

"I just know you're ill. And that you are trying very hard to fight it.", Owen shared, reassuring her. "Amelia, do you think you cannot concentrate on a relationship because you are a recovering addict?", he tried to get her to open up to him.

"Who wants this?", his crush wanted to know from him, asking another question before she responded to his. Tears filled her eyes while she waited for the redhead to tell her that he wouldn't want to deal with her and her issues.

"Hey...none of that.", the redhead begged, gently raising her chin with his hand to make her look into his eyes again. "Don't be so negative about yourself. You're trying. And I've already told you that I am in. I knew about your illness then, so nothing is going to change for me now."

"Until I relapse.", the brunette sniffled, remembering what a beast she could be when on drugs and drunk. She felt so vulnerable right now and hated herself for destroying the amazing and peaceful morning they had had earlier.

"That is not true, Amelia.", Owen emphasized. "If I fall for someone I am in for the whole package, not just the easy stuff. I believe in you. I know you are fighting your addiction every single day and I will try to help you with that. Should you ever relapse again, I am going to be there and help you get sober."

"I...", Amelia started, feeling him wipe a tear off her cheek. She was very confused by him being so unbelievably kind to her. All her former affairs and one-night-stands had been just that. Nobody had ever been truly interested in her before.

"You don't have to say anything, if you don't feel like it.", the teenager told her. "I just want you to know that this is not a game for me.", he repeated, leaning forward to rest his forehead against hers.

"Thank you, Owen.", was all the brunette was able to answer right now. "You are not a game for me either.", she informed him honestly before she fell silent again and enjoyed their intimate moment.

"Hey, you two lovebirds!", Maggie greeted them. It was already 10am and she really needed to start her day, being a person who usually got up rather early. "That's my room too, so I need to change.", she stated, basically asking Owen to leave for now.

"I am impressed that you have let us be until now.", her best friend chuckled, pecking her crush's lips once more before she sent him away. "How was your first night with Andrew?", she wanted to know.

"Amelia, you know me...nothing happened. We were looking at the ceiling, sleeping on our backs and holding hands. That's all.", the brunette let her know. "The more important question is if I can still use my bed or if it's filthy now after what you two might have done last night."

"We didn't do anything, I explained to Owen that I cannot have sex in the bed I am normally sharing with you.", Amelia admitted. "Thank me later. Maybe you should move into Andrew's room permanently.", she suggested and wiggled her eyebrows.

"I cannot do that! We aren't even a couple, Amelia!", Maggie exclaimed in shock. "And you and Owen are neither. You shouldn't be sharing a room with him only to be tempted to screw him every single night. That's not what this vacation is about.", she reminded her.

"Okay!", the teenager laughed. "You sound like April or like a nun.", she accused her best friend and shook her head. "Should I wear this dress today or those shorts together with a tank top?"

"The dress will make Owen go crazy.", her counterpart advised. "And other than you, I am quite conservative, yes. But also, the risk of me getting pregnant as a teen is not as high as yours.", she teased. "Now let's go have breakfast."
