Day 11: Thursday
---
"So, who's gonna come grocery shopping with me?", Amelia asked. She couldn't drive yet, so somebody of the older teenagers had to join her. "One last time.", she sang Ariana Grande's song.
"Huh?", her boyfriend looked at her. "Aren't you playing volleyball with us?", he questioned confused since he had thought she was going to play with them. But internally he knew she wasn't such a fan of sports.
"Nah, I'll watch you guys later when we're back. The only reason I am going to be sitting near the volleyball field is your abs.", she explained to Owen, causing him to slightly blush as she shamelessly flirted. Smirking, she walked over to him and pecked his lips.
"You're something else.", the redhead chuckled and wrapped his arms around his girlfriend to pull her closer to him. "Could you bring me one of my favorite sodas?", he softly asked her, causing her to nod into him, still in the mood to cuddle. "Thanks, Honey."
"I'll drive you if you promise not to be annoying.", Meredith joked. "Also, why would I even consider playing volleyball in the hot sun when I can go eat ice cream at the mall with my future sister-in-law?"
"Wait, so it's that serious between you and Derek?", April questioned surprised. "I think I'd like to play. I mean, we have all day, I should be able to learn the game today.", she announced.
"We're coming for the ice cream.", Arizona decided for herself and her girlfriend. "And new clothes.", she giggled. "You two can take care of the groceries.", she addressed Amelia and Meredith, who just laughed.
"Of course, it is that serious between us, Kepner.", Derek informed the redhead. "Good, if four of us are leaving, we have two teams with five players each. Let's try to split all the couples if possible."
"My girlfriend isn't playing.", Owen reminded the brunette, his voice sounding fake-sad. "So, you can put me in whatever team you need me in.", he added. "Also, let's have three boys in each group and two girls."
"Fine.", Jo agreed. "Then let's say I am in Owen's team. How about Lexie, Andrew and Jackson are with us as well? That would leave Maggie, Derek, Mark, Alex, and April in the other team. I think that sounds fair. And you can join us later if you want. I've texted you the extras I want, Callie."
"I love how we do have a grocery list and everybody just messages us about their extras instead of adding them to the actual list.", Callie chuckled. "But that's fine. I'll send them to Meredith and Amelia then, since apparently, we won't help with the groceries."
"Or you just add them to list because I need to use the toilet anyway before we leave.", Meredith replied. "Bye, have fun!", she told her boyfriend. Once everyone else was gone and they were sitting in the car with Arizona on the passenger seat since she wouldn't stop asking about sitting there, she told the other three: "We should have Chinese for lunch. The others are gonna get something from the kiosk, so we should eat out too."
"You won't hear me complain.", Amelia responded, followed by nods from the couple. "Derek gave me money for a new phone, so if we have enough time, I'd like to buy one.", she shared.
"Sounds good, gives the others more time for shopping clothes, we can buy you the new phone and then we can take care of the groceries.", the blonde responded determined. She was actually rather excited about spending time with her boyfriend's favorite little sister. Usually, she only met Amelia when Derek, Maggie or Lexie were there, so now she would get to know the brunette by herself.
---
"Alright, let's try some passing first. It's the move in which the ball lands on your forearm and you start passing it back. That's also the one that hurts most, so your lower arm is going to get redder.", Mark explained to April. "The first few times we are just going to try to play, but it won't be serious."
"And the other pretty famous move is called setting, which is when you are passing the ball above your head. That's how we are going to pass the ball in between our teammates.", Lexie shared from the other side, mostly explaining the rules of volleyball to Andrew, who also didn't have any experience yet.
"Yeah, I think I can remember that.", the DeLuca figured and shrugged. "Let's just try, otherwise Amelia won't get to see your sweaty abs later.", he told Owen and made everyone laugh. They all loved how bold the youngest Shepherd was sometimes.
"You've heard him.", Maggie said, causing Derek to shake his head in embarrassment, even though he knew that Meredith was very similar to Amelia. "What can go wrong?", she ironically wondered.
"Oh, actually a lot of stuff.", April started to philosophize. When she heard Alex sigh, she rolled her eyes at him. "But apparently, we won't think about that until it happens.", she decided to make peace again.
