Day 12: Friday
---
"Last bonfire of this vacation.", Mark announced to his friends. "Anyone wanna come swim?", he asked, aware of the fact that not everyone would be joining him, so there was no problem with the fire potentially being unsupervised.
"Yeah, why not?", April shrugged. "Jackson, are you coming?", she wondered and he agreed, causing Maggie, Jo, and Andrew to stay at the fire with Nelly. Arizona, Callie, Alex, Meredith, Lexie, Derek, and Owen got up too.
"Are you coming with us?", the redhead questioned as he looked at his girlfriend with pleading eyes. She wasn't such a fan of swimming; he had understood that by now. But he still wanted to try and ask her.
"Okay.", Amelia said and smiled a little as she grasped the hand he was holding out for her to take. "But only because I am actually wearing my swimwear under my other clothes right now.", she chuckled and followed the group.
"Let's play water ball!", Alex suggested excitedly and threw the ball towards Derek. "Older Shepherd, you start. Or we could pick teams. How about you're in one team and I am in the other one? Or maybe two girls choose this time.", he suggested and shrugged.
"Nah, go ahead.", Lexie chuckled and waved for the two of them to start. "Derek, you should go first.", she told the brunette. "Make a good choice because you have the power to pick just anyone of us."
"Amy.", Derek grinned, causing her to frown at him in surprise. "What? Do you not wanna join your older brother's team?", he wanted to know, faking his dismay, and also letting Alex know that he did not want to be called old just because his younger sister was so young.
"I'm happy to be in your team, but like, everyone else is much better than me at this game, so I don't know why you would pick me if you could have chosen any of us.", the brunette laughed.
"Why? We have played water ball before, and you were pretty good. Stop talking nonsense about your skills, you should be more confident.", her big brother advised and wrapped his arm around her. "Alex, your turn."
"Kepner, let's try this.", the Karev said, ready to mix the teams up a little instead of immediately choosing his best friend. "I believe you have a hidden talent somewhere deep inside of you.", he shared, kind of joking and kind of serious.
"Callie.", Derek joined the mixing of the teams, even though Amelia kept quietly begging him to pick Owen, which he ignored because he knew the couple would end up making out the whole time instead of playing.
"Meredith.", Alex finally decided to choose his best friend, guessing that if Derek wasn't picking either his own girlfriend or Owen, he was once again doing what they had done yesterday when building the teams.
"Lexie. Here, you can't have Owen, but you get to have your best friend.", the Shepherd informed his sister jokingly. "You're welcome.", he playfully winked at her and waited for his counterpart's next choice.
"Good, I'll take Hunt then, so you won't have to be the person who keeps leaving him out of his team, so he and Amelia won't make out.", the brunette pointed out, causing Amelia to complain.
"Jackson.", Derek said. "Amy, stop whining, we are playing a game. You and Owen are sharing a room and can do whatever you want in there, but right now you can get it together.", he scolded her amused.
"Mark.", Alex made his last choice to make sure that if Amelia didn't have her boyfriend, Derek wouldn't get his best friend either and to actually finalize mixing up the teams. "Which leaves Arizona for you. I think we're all good."
"Hey, room for one more?", Maggie wondered half an hour later since she felt like playing with them. The group nodded and let her join Alex' team because they were one person less than the other one. "Andrew and Jo are preparing sticks with marshmallows for us.", she announced.
"Yay!", Arizona cheered happily. "I think we've played enough, let's go.", she decided another twenty minutes later, causing everyone to go back to the bonfire to get dry. She excitedly grabbed her girlfriend's hand to pull her with her.
"Hey, aren't you coming?", Jackson asked Amelia and Owen who weren't moving. They just smirked and looked at him. "Oh God, fine. Make sure you go somewhere where nobody sees you.", he chuckled.
"You're horny.", the redhead teased his girlfriend who had begged him to stay in the water with her. "And somewhat romantic.", he praised her and made her giggle. "Making out in the water it is."
"Well, you made me come in here. Then, I was robbed of you for some stupid game that my team even lost. And now, I need you to make me understand why it made sense to come in here.", the Shepherd joked and wrapped her arms around her boyfriend's neck to jump into his arms as he carried her to a spot where they could be unbothered.
"I love you.", Owen whispered in Amelia's ear before he started kissing her passionately. "But I also love marshmallows and I know for a fact that our friends are gluttons. So, let's be quick."
"I could be your marshmallow.", the brunette continued messing around since both of them knew how much she would hate that nickname. "Fine, but let's take our time later in bed then.", she made a deal with him, watching the redhead nod. "I love you too by the way."
