Day 8: Monday

---

"Hey, Sleepyhead.", Owen whispered once Amelia woke up. She had fallen asleep after their breakfast in bed and was slowly opening her eyes. It was almost lunchtime. "How do you feel?", he wanted to know.

"Good.", the brunette mumbled. "Headache is pretty much gone.", she informed him and yawned. "What did you do? You look like you haven't moved at all.", she realized and glanced at her boyfriend.

"I continued reading the book and made sure you were getting some rest.", he let her know and smiled. "Jo texted me that the others are having fries and nuggets at the beach. Wanna join them?"

"Sure.", Amelia responded and nodded. "But beforehand, I wanna do this.", she announced and sat up to connect their lips. "Haven't done that for a whole night.", she reminded Owen and kissed him again.

"You're such a flirt, Amelia Shepherd.", the redhead chuckled. "And I love you.", he told her shyly. He had to get used to saying it. Other than Amelia, he had been in love with somebody before, but that girl had started telling everyone about his feelings although she hadn't reciprocated them.

"I love you too.", his girlfriend responded. "Let's go get something to eat.", she added after and stood up to pull him out of bed. "You still have to change your pants. We didn't get to that earlier.", she realized.

"Hey!", their friends greeted the couple once Owen and Amelia arrived at the beach. "Half of us are still waiting for their food, so you can go order yours.", Alex told them, causing them to put down their stuff before they joined the others.

"So, did somebody already tell you about our idea for tomorrow?", Arizona questioned excitedly, causing the newcomers to shake their heads in confusion. This sounded kind of big. "Then I will!", she beamed.

"Well, it was yours and April's idea in the first place, so it kinda adds up that one of you shares it.", Andrew chuckled at his friend's excitement. "But let them order first.", he reminded the blonde.

"What do you want, Honey?", Owen wondered as they were looking at the menu. "I think I'll take fries and nuggets as I mentioned earlier.", he informed his girlfriend, wrapping his arm around her. "I'll pay for yours too."

"Fine, then your ice cream and coffee later will be on me.", Amelia demanded as she leaned against him. "I like it when you call me Honey.", she shyly admitted, before she finally picked her lunch. "I am probably going to go with the loaded guacamole fries. Which means, I might have to steal like three of your chicken nuggets.", she giggled.

"Little thief.", the redhead joked, kissing her head. "Hi. Two cokes, please. As for food we'd like to order the loaded guacamole fries and the big fries and nuggets menu. Thanks.", he said to their counterpart. "Alright, so what's the big plan for tomorrow?", he addressed Arizona again.

"Instead of repeating the party from yesterday, we are going to have a dance this time. Like we sometimes have in high school with snacks, drinks, slow music, pretty outfits and of course we are going to vote on who becomes prom king and queen.", she cheered. "Just the fourteen of us."

"Are you serious?", the brunette questioned in shock. There was a reason she usually avoided any proms at school. "You are joking, right?", she asked again, causing Arizona's eyes to widen even more as she proudly shook her head. "Cool.", she ironically stated.

"Oh, come on, this is going to be fun.", Maggie spoke up after listening to the conversation. "It's not that serious, but that's what makes this so special. We can have fun without being under too much pressure."

"You can be my date if you want to.", Owen meddled, pointing out the obvious, but still finding it funny, especially when Amelia rolled her eyes at him before she started smirking. "Is that a yes?"

"Do I have a choice?", his girlfriend wanted to know, and everyone denied it. "Yeah, it's a yes.", she sighed in defeat. She had never properly slow-danced before and felt like she was going to embarrass herself in front of her boyfriend.

"Perfect!", Arizona's face lit up again. "The dance starts at 6pm, meaning we are going to use the whole day tomorrow to set everything up. April and I have thought of five groups. One is for buying everything, another one will prepare the food and drinks. We need a group that tidies up and cleans the living room, the fourth one is going to decorate, and the last group is taking care of the playlist."

"It would make sense if Owen helped April and Andrew with the food. But Amelia, you can choose whatever you wanna do besides making food and taking care of the music since that's a two-people-job and Alex and Callie have already claimed it.", Meredith announced.

"You could help me and Arizona with the decorations!", Lexie suggested excitedly, totally wanting her best friend in her group. She knew that Amelia would never choose to clean the living room, so her chances of having her in her own group weren't that bad.

"Who will do the shopping?", Amelia wondered, realizing that was the only other option left. If either Mark, Derek, or Maggie were in that group, she would, against her own expectations, choose the decorations, because all three of them were a pain in the ass when it came to grocery shopping.

"Derek, Mark and I will.", Maggie replied as if she had sensed it. She started pouting once her best friend chose her sister and Arizona instead. "Fine, just because we are organized people.", she frowned.

"Wow, look at you, organizing a dance you don't even want to happen.", Owen teased his girlfriend, still holding her in his arms and resting his chin on top of her head. "Relax a little. It's going to be great.", he promised, a second before all their orders were ready to be eaten.
