Day 2: Tuesday

---

„So, who's watching?", Jo asked, referring to the horror movie the group was going to watch. It was already late; darkness was surrounding the cabin – the perfect timing for a frightening film.

Some of them would occupy the couch, others could sit on a pile of pillows and blankets in front of the TV. All the snacks and drinks had been prepared. The only remaining question was who was actually going to watch.

"Not me!", April shared and decided to go to bed early tonight to continue reading her book. Arizona, Andrew, and Maggie left as well. The latter would keep watching their TV-show rather than be afraid all night.

"Amelia?", Meredith questioned since everyone else had taken a seat. The brunette was standing in the doorway, thinking about what she would do. Oftentimes, violent movies triggered her memories of her father getting shot in front of her and Derek.

"You don't have to watch, Amy.", her brother reminded her. He was the only one who knew about her fear of horror movies. He sighed when he noticed her intense swallowing before she joined Owen on the couch.

Apparently, his little sister didn't want her crush to think that she was a coward or something, hurting herself in the process. But Derek had promised her to stay out of whatever decision she was making on their vacation.

"You really don't have to watch if you don't feel like it.", the redhead softly whispered towards Amelia, who looked very tense. She just exhaled and nodded, remaining seated next to him.

"What, are you scared of horror movies or something, Shepherd?", Alex teased his friend and chuckled. Amelia scoffed, signaling him that she wasn't weak. She was ready to get through this and to impress Owen.

"We are watching Hush.", Lexie shared. The group had voted on a selection of three different movies and that was the one most of them wanted to see tonight. Derek knew the film and how realistic it was, worrying about his little sister even more.

When Owen turned to his crush once they were ten minutes into the movie, he noticed her staring at the TV. But not in the way all the others did, she was fearing it and shaking.

"Amelia...you do not have to watch this.", he told her again, but she wasn't reacting to him. Neither did she want any snacks or something to drink. Slowly, trying not to startle her, the teenager wrapped his right arm around her tense body, gently pulling her into his arms. "Did you hear me?", he whispered.

"You're watching, so I am watching too.", Amelia informed him firmly, determined to make it. She was fighting the tears, but she would definitely not let them win. She jumped when the next jumpscare happened and looked terrified, turning to the redhead to hide her face in his chest for a moment.

"Then I am not watching anymore.", Owen decided, realizing that the brunette was trying to impress him in a way that he would never expect from her. "We're going upstairs.", he just said, figuring nobody needed an excuse of why they were leaving the living room.

"Thanks!", Derek mouthed and nodded approvingly towards his friend, before he focused back on the movie, holding Meredith in his arms. "She really likes those chips.", he informed him, watching the redhead grab one of the bags, guiding Amelia upstairs with his other hand on her back.

"Maggie and Andrew are in our room, watching NCIS. Let's choose another movie in yours.", he suggested, helping the scared brunette as she sat down. She couldn't even look at him anymore. "Amelia, why did you force yourself to watch if you don't like horror movies?"

"Isn't that obvious?", she mumbled, hating that she had made such a fool out of herself. Suddenly, she felt Owen's pointer finger under her chin, softly raising it, so she would glance into his eyes. "Let's face it, I am super uncool."

"Are you kidding me? Just because you don't enjoy violent films doesn't mean that you are not cool, Honey.", the redhead reassured her. "And I know that you wanted to impress me by watching, but...I need you to be honest with me, okay? I can watch that movie whenever I want to. We can always just spend time together in here or elsewhere if you want. I don't ever want you to do such stuff in order to impress me. I am already as impressed as I can be.", he explained, finally noticing a small smile on her face.

"Can...can we just cuddle?", Amelia asked quietly. They had never just snuggled before, only after they had had sex. "And maybe watch something else?", she added, referring to his offer from before.

"Of course, we can.", Owen agreed and smiled at her. "Do you think Maggie minds if I occupy her side of the bed?", he joked. The girl was currently doing the same with his side of the bed in his and Andrew's room.

"She won't mind. She's with Andrew.", the brunette replied and smirked as she got comfortable in her crush's arms, resting her head against his chest as he picked a movie for them to watch.

"Do I give off the vibes that you need to do stuff you don't like in order to impress me?", the redhead wondered after a few minutes of quiet snuggling. He watched her pause the movie and felt her shake her head against him.

"You give off opposite vibes and that confuses me. Look at Mark...look at Alex...they like it when their girlfriends take risks to impress them. I would say Derek isn't totally different either. I thought you were just hiding it in the beginning and that now is the time to make sure you think I am cool.", Amelia sighed.

"You are the coolest when you're yourself.", her crush pointed out and softly kissed her head. "I am totally fine with you not enjoying everything I like. I want you to be you.", he informed her, gently pulling her closer to him.
