A week passed by and the two had made it a routine, sneaking out at night into the jungle to talk for hours in their spot. They talked about everything with one another. Their childhoods, past experiences, their hopes and dreams. Occasionally they would steal moments to kiss; something they had only ever done with each other and wouldn't dare do in front of anyone else.

Nani knew exactly how her mother felt about the Sully family, she knew her mom would kill her if she caught her with Neteyam. A demon blood boy, as her mother would say. With Nani'ite being next in line to her clan it was only a matter of time before her parents picked out a boy to become her mate. So, the two agreed to keep each other their own secret. She did not care though, she was truly beginning to fall for Neteyam, and couldn't imagine a life without him apart of it anymore.

"I want to tell everyone." Nani said as they laid together in the night, holding hands.

"You know we cannot do that." Neteyam responded, rubbing circles into her hand.

"It is no fair," Nani said, turning on her side to face the boy, "I want to tell all of Pandora about you."

Neteyam turned to Nani and teased, "It is no fair, that you still look so beautiful even as you pout like a baby."

"Hey!" She said pushing him back onto the grass and falling on top of his chest as he laughed. She looked up at the boy and he made eye contact with her.

"I wish I could tell the world about you too, Nani." He ran his hands through her hair with a saddened look on his face.

"At least we get to enjoy each other, alone." She grinned, he smiled back down at her and gave her a peck on her forehead, not wanting to end this moment but he knew it was only a couple hours until sunrise. They we're constantly pushing their limits and losing out on sleep to be with one another.

"Let's head home."

The next morning Nani was awoken by her sister's yelling.

"Nani'ite!!!" Reya rang out, "They are here!! Our spirit sisters have returned, the tulkun is here!"

Nani quickly got out of bed and changed into her one of her favorite tops she had woven this year, excited to show it off. Outside everyone was in the water already with the tulkun. Nani dove straight into the water to find Lola'ina, her spirit sister.

She spotted her and instantly made her way over, hopping off of her Ilu to caress the face of her sister. They spoke back and forth, exchanging stories about the past months they've been apart. Nani told her she had met a boy, instantly remembering this was his first time seeing the tulkun.

'Where is he?' Lola asked.

'That is a good question.' Nani signed to her. 'Wait for me here. I will be right back.'

Nani swam away and towards the village to look for Neteyam.

"Kiri come on!! The tulkun has arrived, we have to go see!" Tuk said, pulling on her elder sister's arm.

Neteyam peeked outside as the girls ran out and saw the scene in the water, the beauty of the tulkun being reunited with their family. He smiled and quickly went back into the home to grab his neckpiece that he had taken off before bed. He began putting it on, oblivious to his mother standing behind him, watching him.

She cleared her throat causing him to turn around quickly. "Mother! I did not see you."

"Who is she?" She asked calmly as she went back to doing her chores around the marui.

"Who is... who?" He asked innocently.

"Neteyam," She side eyed him, "you are my first-born son. I know you. You think I do not see you sneak off in the middle of the night? I can hear your ikran from a mile away."

"Mom, I am sorry. I-"

"Just be safe, my boy." She walked up to him, cusping his face, "I cannot lose you."

"I am cautious mom; I wouldn't do anything stupid."

"I know, my Neteyam." She smiled and nodded her head, "Now go, have fun."

Neteyam smiled back at Neytiri and made his way out of the home. "And Neteyam!" His mom called out, "Do not tell your father about this conversation."

He nodded with a grin and turned out of the home. Instantly running into the one person he wanted to see the most.

"Teyam!!" Nani said excitedly, pulling his arm, "My spirit sister is here. You must meet her!"

"Good morning, Nani, I am good thank you for asking." He teased.

"Oh, shut up!" She giggled, pulling him towards the ocean, "Come on!!"

They rode together on Nani's Ilu, as she guided the way to Lola'ina. Neteyam watched the other people of the village interact with the tulkun; amazed at the sight in front of him. Once they made it to Lola, Nani signed to her sister, introducing them to one another.

'It is nice to meet you.' Neteyam signed.

'Oh wow. He is cute, sister.' Lola said to Nani.

'I told you!' Nani signed, giggling under water.

Neteyam and Nani broke to the surface, "What did she say?" he asked.

Nani grinned, "She said it was nice to meet you too."

The two stayed in the water with Lola'ina for hours. Nani interpreting everything Lola had wanted to say to Neteyam. Lola approved of him, telling Nani that he had a strong spirit. That one day he would be a great warrior, and an even better father.

Nani decided to leave out the last part to Neteyam, keeping that between her and her sister. The pair still hadn't decided what they we're yet, if they we're exclusive or not. Nani knew she did not want anyone else, but telling their parents would be a war in itself.

"Tonight, do you think we can just go to our beach?" Nani asked as the pair walked towards their homes.

"You don't want to go to the jungle?"

"Not tonight," she stopped and turned to the boy, making sure no one around them could hear, "I want to go to the spirit tree. I have questions for Eywa."

"Okay then, I will pick you up at the usual time." He smiled down at her.
