"Nani'ite? Seriously, Neteyam?" Neytiri said to her son as soon as they made it into their home

"Nani'ite? Seriously, Neteyam?" Neytiri said to her son as soon as they made it into their home.

"Mother, I-"

"I did not realize the girl you were seeing was the daughter of the Olo'eyktan." She scolded, "We need a home Neteyam! We cannot afford to be kicked out of this clan."

"Wait a minute, you knew he was seeing a girl?" Jake said to Neytiri.

"Yes, Ma Jake. Your son has been sneaking out at night and taking her flying."

"You what?" Jake raised his voice at his son, "Are you serious, boy?"

"I am sorry, sir." Neteyam clenched his jaw and looked down, if only they knew the full truth, he thought. The jungle, mating, everything. He would never disrespect his parent's by talking back but in that moment, he wanted to scream. He wanted to declare his love for Nani, tell the entire world that she was his mate. But he agreed to respect her wishes, not telling anyone the news until she had a plan in place.

"What if either of you we're to get hurt? You didn't think of that, did you?" His father scolded him. Neteyam had no words to say.

"You're banned from flying until I say so." Jake said lowly, "Go on, get out of here."

Neteyam huffed and made his way out of the home.

"Since when are we keeping secrets from each other, huh?" Jake asked his mate.

"Jake, I figured it out on my own. I thought we could trust him; he is 18 after all. Don't you remember having to face my parents?" Neytiri responded.

"It is different, our situation was different." Jake shook his head.

"Is it really, Ma Jake?"

Nani'ite got away with the situation by just a couple lectures of needing to focus more on her duties and less about making friends. Her parents would've actually disowned her if they knew about her sneaking out in the middle of the night. Her mother made her swear to stick to her duties and to leave the Sully's alone when they were not training them.

Nani sat alone on the dock outside of her home and looked down into the water. Replaying last night over and over again; the vision, the bond, being in Neteyam's arms. Her imagination was interrupted by footsteps behind her. She turned to see her sister taking a seat next to her.

"Hungry?" Tsireya asked, offering her sister fish. You do not eat the food you do not prepare; Nani heard her mother's voice in her head. Nani'ite grinned at her sister and accepted her offer.

"Are you okay?" Tsireya asked.

Nani and her sister had never been particularly close. In all honesty, Nani'ite was jealous of her sister. She was soft and kind, everything Nani wanted to be herself. She did no wrong in her parent's eyes, the golden child. Which was only partly true, their mother still found things to criticize Tsireya for, but their father was always there to rescue her. Youngest child of three, the baby.

But Nani wanted to be close to her sister, she saw the way Neteyam cared for his siblings, and she wanted that. Nani was finally starting to understand how much of her mother she was becoming and Neteyam's love was changing her. She wasn't ready to tell Tsireya everything, but she figured she could trust her with half of the truth.

"I've been sneaking out to see him at night, Reya."

"Neteyam?" Tsireya whisper yelled, making sure no one was around to hear them.

"Yes," Nani said lowly, "We... we really like each other."

"Nani!" Tsireya said bringing her sister into a hug, "This so exciting. How does he treat you? Do you walk the beaches together? Have you kissed him yet? Oh, you must be careful! Mom and dad would kill you if-"

"Reya!" Nani interrupted her sister, "Yes, we go to the beach... we've kissed. We just haven't told anybody about us yet."

"I'm so happy for you sister," Reya smiled and blushed down, "I like a boy too."

"I know," Nani laughed, "It is so obvious."

"Nani." they heard from behind him, grabbing their attention.

"Neteyam." Nani quickly stood up and looked around to see if the coast was clear, pulling him into a hidden corner behind a few of the marui pods, "What did they say? You didn't tell them anything, did you?"

"They know that we've been sneaking out."

Nani gasped and buried her face into her hands, "Hey, it's okay, I don't think they'll tell your parents." Neteyam quickly grabbed her hands, "I'm banned from flying too but with that I can bend the rules a bit."

"Neteyam, I don't want you getting in trouble for me-"

"Don't worry about that." Neteyam held her face and planted a soft kiss on her lips.

"We can be seen, Neteyam." Nani whispered, looking to see if anyone around the village could see them.

"Meet me at the beach tonight, that way I don't get caught waiting for you here in the village." Neteyam said, Nani nodded her head and exited the spot first. Trying her best to not seem suspicious.

After nightfall Neteyam quietly made his way around the home, he expected his parents to be awake and waiting for him, but they weren't. They laid there in bed, peacefully sleeping. The perks of being the most trusted child, he thought. He quietly made his way to the private beach and saw Nani'ite sitting in the sand facing the water.

He cleared his throat, but she did not turn around, so he made his way closer and took a seat next to her. "Nani?" He said quietly.

She held her knees in front of her to her chest and turned to face her lover. Tears were running from her eyes, pouring to be more exact.

Neteyam instantly brought her into his arms. He felt her cry into his chest, and he held her tighter, rubbing circles in her skin, "What is the matter, my love?"

He had never seen her cry openly like this, her pain was usually masked by sarcasm and wit. Crying was something she only ever did alone but tonight Nani couldn't hold it in.

"Why can't we just be together, Neteyam?" She cried, "I just want us."

"I'm here, I'm not going anywhere. We will figure this out, together, okay?" Neteyam assured her. "Do you want to go to the jungle? Will that make you feel better?"

Nani nodded and looked up to the boy, finally making eye contact with him. Neteyam wiped her tears and stood her up on her two feet, "Come on, let's go then."

The two flew over the jungle, Nani'ite letting the tears dry from her eyes in the wind. Her worries washed away as soon as they landed, she finally escaped reality and was alone with her mate.

"Neteyam, I've been thinking about it all day, and I'm ready. The vision we shared," Nani looked down, "I couldn't stop imagining our future today. I don't want to wait any longer, I want to start a family, that they cannot take away from us."

"Nani," Neteyam gulped, becoming flustered with the thought, "are you sure this is what you want?"

"We already saw our future, Neteyam, why wait?"

"And you know what this means..." Neteyam slowly walked up to Nani.

"I want you, Neteyam."
