Let me crawl up into your mind, did I mention?
Pretending everything's alright is detention

Before you went off to your classes, you swallowed your pride and asked Ace how exactly to find your schedule. Shockingly enough it turned out to be a single button on your phone that showed all of your classes and where they were located.
"So you have all the same classes as me." Ace mentioned as the two of you walked to your first class which was Potions with Mr. Crewel. The two of you were walking together only because Ace thought it would be weird if you were following him from behind. You didn't really understand but he seemed adamant about it so you went along with it.
"So it seems." You replied. The two of you had been conversing pretty well, aside from the fact that it was only because of that entire encounter earlier and both being punished for it. He was more willing to talk to you though on account of you saving him from that fireball earlier, and you didn't anger him or do anything to deserve his mockery.
Aside from the phone thing.
"Seriously, where do you live if you've never heard of a phone before?" He teased you with a growing smirk. "The mountains? No, the desert? No wait, underground...?"
He's not gonna stop is he... Now that he had taken an interest in you, he wasn't going to ever give that up. "Does it matter that much to you?" You replied with a question. Not only did you barely know him, he didn't feel like he would be the ideal person to tell your entire backstory to. In fact, he'd probably make fun of you for it.
Your apprehensive response only intrigued him further. "I'm not getting an answer so, very much so~" He mused playfully as he leaned closer to you.
The absence of distance between the two of you made your cheeks involuntarily heat up. He's way too close for comfort...
"Do you plan on skipping out on the punishment after school?" You quickly decided to change the subject.
Ace jumped back. He caught off guard by your sudden accusation. "E-Eh? What gave you that idea?" He questioned rather defensively. Based on his reaction, that confirmed your suspicion that he was most likely planning to skip out.
"You just seem like you would." You answered bluntly with a small shrug.
"W...Well, I wouldn't! So don't worry your pretty little head about that!" He laughed nervously, eagerly wanting to change the subject once again.
"Good." You smiled before dropping your voice to a whisper. "Because if you run off, I'll hunt you down."
Ace continued nervously laughing, despite the fact you had just threatened him.
It wasn't your intent to scare him, but you did want him to know you could find him easily if he tried pulling a fast one. It would be unfair if one person was able to get off scot free while everyone else served their punishments.

As soon as your last class ended you gathered up your things. You searched the classroom for Ace, but he wasn't in the room. In fact, you couldn't find him anywhere. A little strange considering the two of you had the same classes. However, you weren't alarmed by this.
Hm...perhaps he's already there... You thought to yourself optimistically.
Instead of hunting him down immediately, you decided to be nice and give him a chance. You headed straight to the cafeteria, under the assumption he had left without you.
