"(Y/N), wake up!" Someone's voice calling your name had lulled you from your slumber. Weakly, you raised your head, darkness surrounding your field of vision.
Despite that, there was a faint light at the end of the tunnel. As your mind stirred and your vision adjusted, you got up and walked towards the end. When you reached the end, you were met with the blinding warm sun.
The place you had emerged from was a cave, and before you was a path into the trees. Upon turning your head, you heard soft movements to your right. Someone was here.
"Oh, you're awake. Good morning!" An older wolf with faint gray fur observed, smiling kindly at you. Beside him were two other wolves.
"Finally. You should've just dragged her out of bed." A female wolf of a similar height chimed in with a huff. She sounded annoyed, though if she truly didn't want to be here, you figured she could've easily left. "What if she overslept again?"
"Hey hey... there's nothing wrong with catching a few extra Z's, Iris~" A younger male wolf chuckled, lazily nudging her side. She rolled her eyes in response.
Your eldest brother approached you. "Come on. You gotta eat so we can get back to training!" He encouraged you along.
A bright, excited smile formed on your lips. Merrily, you skipped over to his side. "Okay~!"
When you opened your eyes, you were clutching your pillow tightly. Your face was damp, faintly stained with tears. These flashbacks to your past had caused you so much grief, but none of them compared to pain of seeing your family again. It was the first dream you had of them for so long.
You missed them. All of them.
Instead of being consumed by your thoughts, you got out of bed. Getting up for the day, you got dressed and headed downstairs. Yuu was at the bottom speaking with the ghosts. They noticed you right away.
"What is with your faces?" The ghost observed. "You both look depressed."
"You two look like you sneaked a peek of the other side. Heeheehee!" The other jeered with a laugh. These two really didn't mind mocking at your expense.
Another ghost phased into view beside them. "Today's the last day of the fall semester. You can't lost motivation on the last day. Buck up." He advised the two of you.
The last day of the fall semester... which meant you'd be getting a break from school.
"And then tomorrow winter holiday starts. What do you guys plan to do?" One ghost asked.
Both you and Yuu exchanged glances. That's a good question... what are you going to do in that time? You had been so occupied with everything else, you forgot to dwell on your plans.
"Hmm? The hell is 'winter holiday'?" Grim appeared from beside Yuu to ask.
You had heard a bit of students talking about it beforehand, and Rosalia helped fill in the blanks.
The ghost kindly informed the gray monster. "It's when school lets out for the season. Most students go home to celebrate the new year with their family. They have a fancy dinner, with a big feast."
