Call me cocky, watch your tone
You better love me, 'cause you're just a clone

That... that hunter.

An uncontrollable rage burned inside of you. A flame so voracious it would have set the entire forest ablaze. Words couldn't describe the level of anger you harbored. So much hate, and contempt, it blanketed you like a casting shadow. It had taken over your entire being.

You wanted payback. You needed payback.

But you could only do so much. You were too young. Too weak. That's why you were the runt.

"I'll... I'll get stronger. I'll become the strongest wolf in the world." You could do it. That's the least you could do for them.

Mom... Dad... I will.

When you opened your eyes, you were met with a pale cracked ceiling. The blankets had shifted in your sleep. The coverlet was bunched around your lower calves.

With your hand, you pushed yourself up to a sitting position from bed. Running your fingers through your disheveled hair, a sigh of dejection escaped your lips.

There's no running from my past, is there?

And those dreams, or rather nightmares, they're not going away soon.

Subsequently contemplating your restless thoughts, you changed and got dressed into your uniform. You got ready for the day.

Even after that huge fiasco with Riddle and the others, your school life resumed as normal. You'd be lying if you said you weren't looking forward to it. This was your life now after all.

As soon as you walked out the door, Yuu and Grim coincidentally were doing the same.

"Good morning (Y/N)." Yuu greeted you once he spotted you, flashing his trademark charming smile.

"Morning." You blithely answered back as you returned his grin. His liveliness was contagious.

You paused. Before any of you could do anything else, you noticed Yuu's tie was off center. "Oh, Yuu..."

Instead of finishing your sentence, you subconsciously took a step closer to him. You gingerly tugged his tie towards you and proceeded to fix it for him.

He didn't move a muscle as you did so. Eyes curiously following your movements, he simply watched as you adjusted it.

"Sorry, it was crooked." You sheepishly uttered an explanation upon finishing.

He blinked in surprise at your actions. After a millisecond, he smiled warmly in response. "That's alright. Thank you, (Y/N)." When you looked up at him, you didn't realize how close the two of you had gotten.

You froze in place, taking the opportunity to study his charming features. Your heart nearly skipped a beat at the proximity. Was Yuu always that good looking, or did he change last time you laid eyes on him?

"Alright! Let's get going to school so we can learn more about being great magicians!" Grim cheered in declaration, raising his paw in the air.

Grim's voice snapped you both out of it. The two of you quickly separated and headed out for another day of school.
