Jack paused a moment before replying. Better to just get this over with. "Tch... Fine, whatever. The sooner we wrap up our business here, the sooner I can go back to my dorm and go to sleep."
"What? Dude, it's barely nine. What time do you go to bed?" Ace couldn't help but ask.
"I'm always in bed by 10." Jack answered.
Ace was dumbfounded. That's way too early for him. "Geez! Well ok then, Mr. Model student..."
This whole time something had been bothering you. You stood up from your seat. Even if you wanted to help... "Um, I can't really do much when I'm dressed like this." You spoke up. How do you serve tables in a fancy dress?
Floyd glanced over at you. His smile returned. "Not to worry, pretty little angelfish. We can always–"
Suddenly a strange sound of crunching echoed throughout the lounge. It stopped, but it was so weird you were curious what it was.
"What was that?" Jack questioned. He heard it too.
"Huh?"
"That noise..." Jade said aloud.
Suddenly, Yuu came up to your group. He had a clipboard in hand, held close to his side. A serious expression decorated his features. "Jade, we have an emergency."
Yuu's outfit had changed. It deviated slightly from his school uniform. He was wearing a lavender button up with the sleeves folded to his upper arms. The dress shirt was unbuttoned slightly, tucked into his jet black dress pants. To decorate his look, he had black suspenders, a belt, and a loosened tie.
He took out his phone. He scrolled through it for a second. Then, he pulled the eel to the side and they began talking amongst each other.
Due to the loud talking between Ace, Deuce, and Jack, it was hard to pick it up. You could only hear faint words.
"...couldn't.... Make..."
"...someone... ignihyde... fix..."
"...pulled.... Itself."
"....all out...."
You couldn't hear the rest. Not that it mattered much since you couldn't make heads or tails of what they were talking about. However, the two slightly turned in the direction of your group.
Thankfully, you didn't have to be kept in suspense for too long. They quickly returned.
"(Y/N)..." Jade addressed you with a smile. "We've found a job for you."
"What is it...?" Although you were nervous of the connotations.
"Can you by chance, sing?"
"Huh?!" Your eyes widened in surprise. Your response had a chain reaction, as the others mimicked your surprise.
Sing? You?
Suddenly, you were struggling to come up with a response. The words were caught in your throat. "W-Well... uh... I..."
"...No?" You answered timidly, averting your gaze.
Jade walked over to where you were standing. "Look at me, (Y/N)." He ordered, closely standing before you.
