And now we get the payback

Jamil examined the tables filled with dishes. Since they were done, they could begin the banquet. But first, it had to get to the dorm. "Okay, that should do it. Please take the food to the dorm now." He said as he turned to the other students.
The Scarabia residents all nodded in near perfect synchronization. "Yessir!"
The students each took a dish and escorted it out of the kitchen. Others took extra plates or silverware. Continuing their organization, they left in a single file line. They more well coordinated in set up than the residents of Heartslabyul.
As students filed out of the room, Grim crossed his arms. He turned to Jamil with a curious look. "By the way, why are you guys stuck here over vacation?" He couldn't help but ask. The question had been rattling around in his brain. You were wondering the same thing.
Azul and the eel twins had their reasons, but a whole dorm of students staying behind over winter break? It was odd.
Jamil's smile fell upon being asked. His expression faltered as he suddenly grew quiet. As if hesitant to answer, he diverted his eyes to the side. The reaction struck you as odd. "...That's..."
The other nearby students went silent. They seemed just as uncomfortable by the notion as the vice dorm head was.
"That's a bit of a long story." Jamil merely replied. His brows were now furrowed to a troubled look. It wasn't something he wanted to go into too much detail about.
Yuu raised a curious brow. Just like you, he could sense there was something amiss. "Oh? Is there trouble in paradise?"
One of the students bravely spoke up in a timid, soft mumble. "Everyone in Scarabia is... well, it's the Prefect's orders, so..."
"We can't go home even though we want to..." Another uttered with nervousness.
Before any of them could explain, Jamil snapped at them. "Shh! Enough, both of you. It is our fault in the first place." He scolded. The other students instantly fell silent.
Their peculiar behavior was making you more skeptical by the minute. Was something going on in Scarabia? You couldn't imagine what it could be yet though.
Though you wanted to dwell on it more, Jamil had already moved on. "The food's getting cold. It's time to get back to Scarabia." His smile returns, as if nothing had occurred.
"Scarabia is always warm despite the season. I think that it will feel a little bit like the southern islands, too." He described the dorm. Despite your reservations, it sounded incredibly enticing.
A place that's super warm everyday? Even in the winter? "Yahoo! That's basically paradise~! Let's go, Yuu, (Y/N)!" Grim cheered. He was more than excited now.
"Grim, hold on a sec..." Yuu spoke up.
"I'm sure that the Prefect will be happy to see you both, too." Jamil nodded. Suddenly, he moved back an inch, accidentally knocking over a piece of silverware. It landed by you, so out of instinct, you picked it up and returned it to the table.
"You will come, won't you?" Jamil's voice asked.
"Yes, of course." Yuu agreed as you returned to his side.
You turned to your fellow dorm-mate. "...Are you sure?" You asked with a tilt of your head.
Yuu flashed you a close-eyed smile. His mind seemed made up. "Why not? We don't have anything else to do today."
