Turns out that after some talking, Kyle was the name of the guy that she was talking to on Tuesday night.
For the rest of the week, they were talking a lot and getting to know each other. For just meeting, they were getting into some pretty intense and deep conversations.
On Friday, they had a class together. Cecilia sat at the edge of the second row and started to boot up her laptop. She saw Kyle come in and smiled when she saw him.
He sat right next to her and turned on his computer.
The class was accounting for hri, a 4 hour class with Professor Reuben himself. The worst part about it was that this class was on a Friday.
Despite class being quite boring, time seemed to speed up.
However, the thought of Evan was looming in Cecilia's mind. It was strange because she had a feeling and started to imagine "What if he came out of the blue all of a sudden?" She must have been having crazy thoughts while she was in there.
Suddenly, she looked up from her laptop.
For a split second, Evan walked by the classroom, locking eyes directly with her. Those same eyes that wanted, the same eyes that craved for her and thirsted with a desire to see her, everything started to come back again.
Cecilia felt a chill go down her body. She pinched herself, was she dreaming?
Nope, not at all.
She could feel it, there were feelings that were supposed to be hidden that started to come out. The way that a tension beyond words was in that moment, how they sensed each other and their eyes locked with each other then and there. Almost as if both of them felt their calling was towards each other from then and there.
What made the moment a little terrifying was that Kyle was right next to her and looked at Evan walk by and then Cecilia.
Cecilia took a deep breath and shifted her focus back on the lecture. By now, it was almost time to leave.
She and Kyle left class and before she knew it, he and her were walking to the parking lot together.
It was windy and a little cold outside, January was at it's final days by now.
"You know, I haven't really seen Chance recently, do you know him?" Cecilia asked.
"Oh of course, who doesn't know Chance? He lights up a room with his presence alone."
"So true."
"And that partner of his is just...."
"What?"
"Such an alpha male, like he thinks that he can walk all over you and treat you like shit. When I work with him, I want to put him in his place. Guys like him have an ego larger than their dicks."
Cecilia gulped.
"I know him actually."
"In what way?"
"We had something at one point, but I don't know what it was."
"When?"
"Well, it was just recently, kind of ended things, not like it was anything at all. He did treat me bad, but he did have another side to him that I never saw."
"I don't believe you when you say that."
"He deserves a chance to let him warm up to you, but I kind of shut myself out from him."
"That's smart."
"Yeah, he never cared anyways."
"And if he does something to you..."
Kyle put his hand on Cecilia's shoulder.
"Let me know, I will take care of him for you."
Cecilia put his hand down.
"Thank you, but there's probably no need for you to do that. We ended on bad terms anyways, best that we don't try and cross paths again."
Kyle understood and Cecilia looked at the time.
"I probably should go now. I have to get home."
"I get it, drive safe. Let me know when you get home."
"Ok!"
The weekend flew by and it was Monday again. Cecilia and Chichi were starting to get their belongings together in the class. Cecilia and some of her classmates were discussing ideas for their meals for the week.
She left and just as she got home, she heard her phone buzz.
"Cosmo, are you on campus today?"
Her heart jumped, and she got excited.
But then, she realized that she was at home.
She just proceeded to put her stuff down and grab a drink of water, while also reviewing her planner to see what she could get done ahead of time. Yet, her body was tired.
To the bed she went and took and hour nap.
That's when she woke up and checked her phone again before she texted Evan back.
"Hey, sorry. I just got home."
Send.
New message as soon as she pressed send.
"When will you be there next?"
"I have a class on Tuesday night, and Wednesday morning."
"Ok."
Whatever, he still is himself.
It suddenly started to seem so strange to her.
"I was going to stop talking to you anyways."
and
"I am not waiting that long to see you again."
Seemed like they were just lies. Did it matter?
Evan keeps on surprising Cecilia with every breath that he takes.
Suddenly, Kyle rang through.
"This assignment is going to be the death of me."
"For what class?"
"Forensic Science. I don't hate Criminal Minds but I will have to watch a lot of their episodes for this year."
"That's honestly cool."
"Professors in college really don't give a shit anyways. They understand the assignment unlike high school or middle school teachers."
"To be honest, that's what makes learning more memorable and enjoyable."
"You sound like a nerd."
"Because I am one :D"
"And I'm a little out of this world."
"You know, this might sound strange. But, it does sound cute at the same time."
Cecilia blushed.
Oh, that was unexpected. Kyle seems to have some game.
"You really think so?"
"Oh, I know so. You are an interesting one. Ever since that night that we started talking, I couldn't stop thinking about you. There's just something about you that I can't seem to put my finger on, it's what makes you.... you."
