Chapter 23: Beast in show

It was another beautiful day in Metropolis, as Ash, Casey, and Kara were walking through the city.

Ash: [stretching his arms] Man, what a beautiful day! The sun is shining, the birds are singing! Nothing can get any better than this!

Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKA PI!

Casey: Got that right!

However, Kara seemed to be listening to rock music on her headphones.

Ash: [pulls out his Rotom Phone] Hey, Rotom! Look up any hit songs from "Koffing and the Toxics"!

Ash's Rotom Phone: Searching for songs from "Koffing and the Toxics"!

That was when Rotom Phone found a song and started playing it.

Kara: Hmm?

Ash: You should listen to this, Kara! A rock band from my world! Koffing and the Toxics!

When Kara started listening to the music, she was starting to like it!

Kara: Oh yeah! This is pretty good!

Electabuzz: [rocking] ELECTABUZZ!

Casey: This is my jam!

Ash: Glad you girls are enjoying it!

That was when a tennis ball appeared from a bush.

Ash: A tennis ball?

Pikachu: PIKA?

Casey: Where did that come from?

Kara: [picks up ball] That's weird.

That was when a German Sheppard pounced onto Kara and was now sitting on her, holding the tennis ball while looking stoic.

Babs: Hey, you met my dog! Isn't he the best? He was Dad's old police dog back in Gotham, but now he's retired, and that means he's all mine! His name is Ace, but I call him Ace the Bat-Hound. Way better, right?

Ash: [eyes sparkle] That's so cool!

Babs: [cuddles Ace] Oh, isn't he just the greatest dog in the entire history of the universe?

Kara: Uh-huh. He's great.

Babs: The greatest! He's 26 inches at the shoulder, medium coat, finished first in his class at the academy, extremely intelligent, cleanly chiseled and noble head, four paws, super lovable personality, and the cutest wutest little fuzzy black nose! [pokes nose]

Ash: That's awesome! Good for you, Babs!

Pikachu: PIKA PIKA!

Babs: Thanks, Ash!

Ash: [kneels down to Ace] Hi there, Ace! Nice to meet you!

But Ace didn't respond! It just remained stoic!

Ash: [sweat drops] Uh...

Babs: Sorry! Ace is usually stoic!

Ash: No worries! I still find it pretty cool that you named him "Ace the Bat-Hound"!

Babs: I know! It just makes it sound more cooler!

Kara: Okay, [scoffs] no. No, actually. He's not. My old dog back in Smallville? He was the greatest dog in the universe. You know what? Check this out. [whistles]

That was when a white dog came crashing through a wall and landed into Kara's arms and started licking her.

Kara: Meet Krypto the Superdog. The actual greatest dog in the universe.

Ash: [eyes sparkle] So awesome!

Pikachu: PIKA!
