Chapter 39: Dinner for eight

It was late at night at the Gordons' home, where Babs was in her room sleeping peacefully as she woke up upon hearing noises.

Babs: Huh?!

Then, she changed into her Batgirl costume!

Batgirl: Not tonight, evildoer. Tonight, you're an evil don'ter!

Swoobat: [posing] [determined] SWOOBAT!

Batgirl and Swoobat then start looking vigilante as she notices a gust of wind blowing behind her as she sees the window opened, then turned to the dining room with her Batarang preparing to find the intruder, when suddenly a tall shadow figure appeared behind her revealing himself to be a costumed villain as he draws one of his sword from his back and swung his blade at Batgirl, who manage to escape just as the blade cut the table in half. As Batgirl continued to dodge the blade, the villain corners her on a displace case, where he tried to punch and kick her but Batgirl moved out of the way. She then blocked another punch by making the intruder hit a bag of flour, blinding him.

? (Deathstroke): [coughs]

Batgirl: Flourproof Bat-Goggles, activate! [puts on goggles] [kicks the intruder] Swoobat, Psyshock!

Swoobat: [Psyshock move] SWOO...BAT!

? (Deathstroke): [grunts in pain]

Batgirl: Scyther, give him a Vacuum Wave!

Scyther: [Vacuum Wave move] SCY...THER THER THER!

? (Deathstroke): OOF!

Batgirl: [pulls out grenades] Bat-Countermeasures, deploy! [throws them] [swoosh]

The intruder was able to knock them away with a soup ladle, then throwing at Batgirl, as she dodged. Then she took out a Batarang and threw it at the intruder's arm, leaving a cut.

? (Deathstroke): [grunts in pain] [grabs his arm]

Just before things got ugly...

Commissioner Gordon: Everything okay down there, pumpkinpants?

Batgirl: Uh, just making nachos!

Scyther: [shaking its head in disapproval] SCYTHER SCYTHE!

Unfortunately, the strange intruder escaped through a window, as Batgirl, Swoobat, and Scyther jumped out and gave pursuit. When they reached another rooftop, the intruder pulled out a pair of swords! Batgirl grabbed a nearby antenna on the roof and used it to clash with the intruder, but he ended up chopping it in half!

? (Deathstroke): [laughs]

Then, the strange mercenary escaped, as Batgirl watched this suspiciously and worriedly.

Swoobat: [worried] SWOO!

Scyther: [pounds blades on the roof in frustration] SCYTHE!

Batgirl: [puts a hand on its shoulder] Don't worry, Scyther! We'll get him next time!

The next day, Babs had arrived to band class in school, and she seemed to be out of breath.

Babs: [heavy breathing]

The other students just gave her awkward looks.

Swoobat: [sweat drops] SWOOBAT!

Scyther: [sweat drops] SCYTHER!

Babs: [going over to a set of drums] Did I make it? Am I late again? [notices Rose] Who are you?

Rose: I'm Rose. It's my first day.

Babs: Oh hey, Rose! I'm Babs! This is Swoobat and Scyther!

Swoobat: [greeting] SWOOBAT!

Scyther: [bowing] SCYTHER!
