Chapter 41: Breaking News

All seemed peaceful, as it was another normal day in Metropolis. Suddenly, a giant moth monster came flying down!

Killer Moth: [screeching]

That's when Batgirl threw Batarangs, and Wonder Woman kicking it while it was off-guard. Bumblebee then flew around the moth mutant, making it dizzy.

Aura Guardian: Time for some pest control! [fires an Aura Sphere] HA!

Killer Moth: [screeches in pain]

Aura Guardian: [to Zatanna] Batter up, milady!

Zatanna: You got it!

Aura Guardian: Pikachu, Iron Tail!

Pikachu: [Iron Tail move] CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...PIKA!

Pikachu sent the moth mutant flying over to Zatanna as she blasted it into the air with her magic, then blowing her finger. Green Lantern caught the creature in a construct net and swung it over to Supergirl as she punched it sky-high.

[crowd cheering]

Batgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman posed for the crowd, Green Lantern and Bumblebee just gave smiles, and Zatanna was blowing the crowd kisses, while Aura Guardian was next to her posing. Then she thought of a cheeky idea.

Zatanna: [grabs him by the collar] Time for a victory smooch! [kisses Ash passionately on the lips, while he returns it]

Batgirl and Bumblebee: Aww!

Incineroar: [to Supergirl] [sweat drops] INCINEROAR...

Supergirl: I've pretty much gotten used to it!

Later on, the school photographer, Jimmy Olsen, had taken the pictures he took to Lois Lane for approval.

Lois Lane: Come on, Olsen, I asked for a scoop and you bring me vanilla. Super Hero Girls and Aura Guardian save the day? [throws pictures away] It's as stale as the half donut under my desk!

Smeargle: [hands her drawings] SMEARGLE!

Lois Lane: [pets Smeargle] Thanks, Smeargle!

Smeargle: SMEAR SMEAR!

Lois Lane: [gasps] You might be on to something, Smeargle. What if it's not about covering the Super Hero Girls and Aura Guardian? What if it's about uncovering them?

Smeargle: SMEAR?!

Little did they know that Jessica was hearing this, and she got a nervous look on her face.

Reuniclus: [nervous] REU!

Litwick: [nervous] LITWICK!

Later at lunch, Jessica was telling Ash and the others about the situation.

Kara: Big deal. Lois Lane writes stories about us all the time. [nudges Ash] Am I right, li'l bro?

Ash: No argument there! And I always help out with the Pokémon reports for her paper!

Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!

Jessica: You don't understand. She's really good, you guys. If she wants to uncover our secret identities, she won't stop until she does.

Reuniclus: [agreeing] REU!

Jessica: Everyone will know who we are. All eyes will be on us at all times. We'll never have any privacy. News outlets outside our doors, evildoers following our every move. And when our parents find out... we're gonna be in so much trouble, you guys.

Karen: No, no, no. [breathing into paper bag] I'm too much of a nobody to be that kind of a somebody!

Ribombee: [telling her to get a grip] RIB RIBOM!
