Chapter Seventy-Nine~ Words

Rhaella had not seen this Dragon in almost a year. He had belonged to her dead son, Aerys. The dragons jade eyes were a mirror of a past that Rhaella wished could be a present.

But dwelling on memories would not explain what the beast was doing here now.

Rhaella looked back to Aemond, who was watching further back so not to anger Vermithor.
The bronze beast had always been overly protective of his rider.
"Well this certainly wasn't what I expected." He sighed, his tone was almost bored.

"Oh bore off." Rhaella replied, turning back to the dragons before her.

She wished then, that the dragons could speak. Because in situations such as this one, shared feelings were, unfortunately, not enough.

She could feel how Vermithor felt dutiful as he perched on the stone walls of harrenhall. Like had preformed a task in bringing the young Dragon here.
But then the beast showed her what she needed to see, and with a look from his magical golden eyes, staring expectantly at her empty belly, Rhaella knew what the arrival of Axus meant.

"Vissera." Rhaella whispered to her Dragon, but she was snapped toward the blue beast when he let out a series of orange flames into the night sky.

"For Gods sakes Rhaella," Aemond snapped. "Any spy for miles will have just been made aware of our presence." He told her. "Move them."

"I'm sorry, I was sure that old lizard would have been presence enough." She retorted, not bothering to turn to look at him.

Axus let out a shriek, as though he was attempting to communicate, yet his frustrations grew when the silver babe was not presented to him.

"Aemond." Rhaella said, eyes not daring to leave the jaded ones of the dragon before her.

"Hm?" Aemond said from behind her.

"Go and get Vissera," A shriek at the mention of her name. "Knock four times otherwise you'll be looking for her for the next decade."
Her purple gaze didn't move from Axus, and she could feel the respect that was present between them.

Of course the young Dragon most likely knew, that one wrong move would leave him as a supper for the Bromze fury.

But it wasn't fear that was threaded through his eyes.

It almost seemed like gratitude.

Axus had reason to be thankful after all.

Rhaella had now given him two riders.

At the thought of her lost son, and her found daughter. She heard a soft disturbance behind her, followed by the comforting sounds of a worried father.

The dragon Axus, stopped all movements. His head pointing in the direction of the crying baby. His wings lifted and he flew down so that he was on the ground, left of Rhaella.

"What are you doing?" Aemond whispered, standing by her side with Vissera. "He looks ready to cook us alive." He looked to Axus, who only now stood as tall as he did, the beast was watching carefully.

"Give her here." Rhaella said. "You never could get them back to sleep." She half laughed.

Once Vissera landed in her mothers arms, her crying stopped. And as did the sense of uneasiness the dragon presented.
"He's bonded to her." Rhaella said, though her statement sounded unsure.
