"Holy mother of Titan..." Luz eyes sparkled, almost watery actually. They were wearing their own formal attire and had been talking to Eda about who knows what- actually Hooty would know.

But Luz's exclaim had gained the attention of the other occupants in the house, including their friends Gus, Willow and Amity, who all also made some awestruck exclaimation.

"And just who are you trying to impress with that glamourous outfit?" Willow snuck a look at me and I glared at her, she knows something and I don't know how to feel about it.

"More like impersonate, trying to become the golden guard or something?" Gus threw his hands up towards me, waving them up and down.

"Yeah... that... wait didn't you say some joke about him having a thing for you? Do you... no way... there is no way that you like the Golden Guard!"

"WHAT?! THAT'S your conclusion?" I shout, I felt dumbfounded at the accusation, but I could feel my throat hitch and my palms begin to sweat. I hope that my face isn't doing the thing Luz's was...

Before the others can continue to bicker and pick at me Eda stepped forward and told us all to just get going already. I'm not entirely sure why she was allowing us to attend a ball that the emperor was throwing, maybe she was using it to her advantage and going to go steal something or some other wild witch schemes while majority of the emperors coven was distracted.

Luz, Willow, Gus and myself each grabbed our palisman and flew in the direction of the castle. The light breeze moved my hair to the side, I could hear the other three talking about somehting but I was far too zoned out to notice what about. My eyes glanced around, seeing other witches on their staffs in all different attire. Some had elegant gowns that flowed behind them, others had suits tailored perfectly to their form. It was amazing seeing so many people come together for one event, wild witches, coven sigils, and all.

I turn back to the front, returning my focus to the emperors castle ahead. It didn't look any different, other than it being adorned in streamers and balloons. Coven scouts were posted everywhere, ensuring that if any witches tried something they would immediately escorted elsewhere. Depending on the severity of their acts it would be a cell in the castle itself or a cell in the conformitoriam, or heaven forbid you're petrified and turned to stone.

The four of us landed a few ways away from the automated bridge that led to the castle entrance, each of us helping fix our hair due to riding through the wind and brushing down our gowns and suits.

"You've been fairly quiet, [y/n]?" Willow held out her hands towards me, concern lacing her voice. I simply wave her off smiling, grabbing her hand and intertwining our fingers. Luz and Gus do the same, the four of us making a chain, linked via hand holding, it was actually really sweet before Luz unlinked herself to catch up with Amity who was further ahead with her older siblings.

Letting out a laugh as I watched Luz pick up and twirl Amity around, watching both their faces flush with a deep shade of pink underneath their masks.

"Why does the emperor choose to have a masquerade ball on his birthday? How old is he turning, were we supposed to bring a gift-" Gus ranted, his hands reaching for his head in slight panic.

"Calm down, Gus!"

"You can't argue he brings up a good point, Willow." I spoke up, raising my eyebrows and looking at the two childhood friends. The three of us exchange looks and shrug it off, going along with 'he is the emperor and what he says goes.'

we make our way in, slowly, the entirety of the Boiling Isles seemed to be going, I mean who wouldn't? It is the biggest party being held for the emperor, wouldn't be surprised if someone was sent to prison for missing the party.
