I took a deep breath and stood up, doing everything I could to not cry in pain. As I stood in front of the Golden Guard, with out looking away from him I grabbed the blade, pulled it out, and handed it back to him covered in my blood.

"You dropped this."

The boy took the weapon from my bloodied hand, returning it to its original hidden resting position. My gaze stayed on his unamused face, but as always his eyes portrayed the many thoughts swimming through his mind.

"[Y/N]!" Willow had run up to me, closely followed by Gus and Luz. The three of them had surrounded me in concern, Willow immediately placing an arm around my waist to support me. You know, considering I am bleeding out?

"How many fingers am I holding up?" Luz asked, their hand lifted in front of me. I raised an eyebrow in response as if to ask if she was serious. "Yes I'm serious! Shut up and answer the question!"

"...Th- three." I coughed, small amount of blood splattering onto the ground in front of me.

"Gross," Gus shivered as he mumbled, "I may not be a healing witch, but I'm pretty sure blood belongs on the inside."

"Gus! Now is not the time for jokes! [Y/n] c'mon, you gotta work with me here. I'm not dragging your unconscious ass to the healing coven by myself." Willow guided my arm around her shoulder while her other hand stayed planted firmly around my side.

The way to the healing coven was kind of a blur, literally, my vision was going in and out. I couldn't make out what my friends were saying, but I could hear the panic in their voices. I heard Luz fill in Eda on what happened, she turned Harpy and flew off. If I knew any better I'd say she was going to find Hunter and rain hell on him. Heh... then I blacked out.

Waking up in a bright, unfamiliar, room was disorientating. I was in an excessive amount of pain, it was very difficult to focus on anything except the now bandaged stab injury. My muscles felt tense and I was slightly shaking with the strain. My breathing was coming out in short, panting gasps.

Hettie Cutburn, the head of the healing coven had entered the room, syringe in hand.

"Ah, you're awake. Healing magic is helping you stay alive but it's not strong enough to completely heal you. We have had to use old procedures..."

Without warning, Cutburn had injected me with a shot of morphine and the pain had immediately receded. Endorphines rush in to fill the void, and I took a moment to savour being pain free. I shakily sit up, swinging my legs over the edge of the bed, and stood. Two steps in and I sunk to my knees - note to self: being pain free due to strong drugs does not equal being fine.

"You are one crazy witch [y/n]." Cutburn assisted me in returning to my resting position on the bed. "As I've informed, we have had to use old procedures due to the injury being to severe for magic. You will have to undergo surgery. Do you know what that is?"

"An ancient procedure where you basically sew me back together, right?" My voice came out hoarse and croaky.

"In a way yes," the coven head passed me a glass of water. "We will be able to put you under a strong sleeping spell for you to be able to not feel pain during the procedure."

"Fun." I responded sarcastically.
