It's been a few days since the standing up to Belos incident, meaning it's been a few days since I've seen Hunter. Right now, I am distracted by a boy I haven't seen in over seventy-two hours when I'm supposed to be focusing on hanging out around town with my friends. I could here Willow bickering with who I think is that Boscha girl the hexside trio had a few run intos prior; I decided to tune back in.

"Go buy a personality." Boshca scoffed, shoving Luz back a bit. Willow took a step forward but i put my arm out, halting her movement.

"From where exactly? I'm not sure any one of us is about to go and buy a new personality from a shop your obviously the favourite customer in." I glared at her, giving her a judgemental up and down. I felt a spark of something as I watched the mean girl become flustered, sneering as she stormed off.

"Welcome back from the realm of daydreams." Gus threw a soft punch into my shoulder with a wink.

"Ha ha, very funny."

"That was a great come back though." Willow laughed, still watching Boshca disappear into the crowd.

I hummed, returning to my thoughts.

The four of us continued to walk around, well those three did, I merely just followed. Ambling along behind them until Luz slowed down to match my pace beside me.

"So..." They started, I knew where they were going with this, but I let them continue.

"You and Hunter..?" Luz sent a cautious glance, only to meet my stoic face as I continued to look ahead.

"What about him." It was more of a statement then a question, I was still curious about it myself so I'd be surprised if I had the answers to any question they threw at me.

"You guys making out in your room..."

"We weren't making out"

"You were."

"OkAy, we were making out, but like- platonically."

"You can't make out with someone platonically [y/n]."

"Uh- of course you can!" Where am I going with this, I need to shut up and stop digging myself a deeper hole.

"We've done it like, a couple of times before already." and there I go.

"WHAT?!" Luz stopped, stared at me with their jaw practically on the pavement. Their volume had obviously caught peoples attention, Willow and Gus turning confused, oh please as if they haven't been eavesdropping, and strangers sending us nasty, truly annoyed looks.

"It's no big deal." I whisper shouted, desperately wanting the ground to swallow me whole.

"No big deal?" Luz mocked, "Your dating the Golden Guard."

"Am not!" I defend, raising my voice slightly more than I had anticipated.

"Whatever you say." Luz dismissively waved and caught up to Gus and Willow, easily flowing into their conversation.

I, however, had stopped walking all together. Watching the trio disappear beyond the crowd. A quiet moment in the middle of a walk way, left with my own thoughts. I knew the truth, so why was it so hard to tell them?

My silence was quickly interrupted when a gloved hand gripped my shoulder firmly.

"[y/n l/n] You are under arrest and I will escort you to your cell."

"Yeah, like that's happening." I grab the wrist pulling them and lean forward, flipping the scout over and landing on their back. I turned to start walking away, only to realise there was a whole group of them staring me down.

"shit."

I spun back around and jumped over the scout who was on the ground and ran. I heard shouts and the rise of commotion behind me followed by collective footsteps.

My legs started to ache terribly as I sprinted along the pavement. Usually, when I took this 'being chased' route I'm on my staff, why [p/n] is not with me is not my priority - I know they like to visit the Bat Queen, and obviously I don't run enough. titan damn

The market street, was an odd and diverse place, the people there were friendly but it was all just a diversion to get you to buy their products. The customers themselves were shady. Today, however, peak hours had passed and there were barely any people here, meaning I couldn't just easily lose the scouts in the crowd like I would normally.

Any witch would have quit running at this point, having sprung onto their staff and taken flight. But because [p/n] was hanging out with Bat Queen and the scouts had the advantage of cardio training, they were gaining on me. I had to think quickly, quicker than I could run obviously. I dived into a back alleyway, rolling to get back on my feet and continue to run.

I led the scouts around a twisted looking building, up a steep rocky path that led up to a dead end with a hedge. What a lot of people don't know, is that you can go under it. I learnt that a long time ago as a child, I would play witch hunt with my friends around this area all the time. Witch Hunt is apparently a game Luz is familiar with, except they call it 'tag' in the human realm.

I pushed my heel into the ground and leaned back, skidding under a small gap in the hedge and holding my breath as some sticks scratch at my skin, drawing blood. Reaching the other side, I hurried to get to my feet, I didn't dare to look back to see if the scouts were still on my trail so I kept running.

Under the low hanging trees, up the boiling river bank; leaping over some bushes and I was back on the bustling streets of the Boiling Isles. I scurried forward, somehow crossing the path that was way too packed with witches and creatures. I basically jumped down an entire flight of stares, if my legs weren't begging for me to stop then my ankles and knees sure are.

"STOP THAT WILD WITCH!" I heard behind me, I sent a glance up the stairs I just hurdled over. Seeing only three of the scouts out of the entire group from earlier. I panted out a relieved laugh, before realising I still have to continue running away.

"oh, for fucks sake." I took off again, smashing through yet another hedge entering house properties, didn't take too much time to look around cause y'know scouts.

We ran across strangers yards, but man these scouts were persistent. We ended up running past Willow's place and wound through the back streets of the area, heading towards the woods, back to where my old hideout was. Passing house after house, I had run so much to the point I couldn't feel my legs, I was desperate to get some air into my lungs but it was too much. I was overwhelmed and for the first time being chased...

I was scared.
