meanwhile...

Distances away from the sands of Sundaria was the Gates of the Champion.

Mirko heaved her breath in exhaustion whilst gripping her sword with an excited grin across her face. It has been over two hours since the battle between the demigod and Katsuki Bakugou.

Bakugou's breathing was also heavy the whole time. He had to admit this was harder than any fight he had with Lumina.

The rabbit-eared Champion gave both of them an opportunity since they answered the last riddle incorrectly - and so she challenged Bakugou to a fight. The goddess of the stars had to sit on a stone bench and spectate the fight from afar, but she knew it was too tedious to try and stop it. Mirko was a gladiator who loved and lived to fight, so Bakugou just had to win somehow.

Meanwhile, she could feel her brother somewhere outside the gates. Waiting. There was no way he could fly over or storm through the Gates without the Primordial Champion's permission. Unless he was that determined. He was stalled for the time being.

But Ra knows for how long.

"You're quite the strong fighter for a mortal! I admire your perseverance!" Mirko remarked, whilst still on the upper hand. "You better not be out of breath."

"Not...by a longshot." Bakugou heaved, despite reaching his limit. He grasped his longsword tightly in his hand, and already he started to feel raw power channeling from his weapon. He held it up as it began to brim into a golden shine. Along with the writing engraved on it.

It was as if the sword was trying to...communicate with him.

"You're distracted!" Mirko lunged with a quick attack. With her strong legs, she kicked him right into the trees. The champion was serving no mercy. "In a fight, nothing should cloud your focus! Only victory!"

"Bakugou!" Lumina shrieked and rushed over to his aid. The ash-blonde male got up from the ground on his knees. The goddess held out her blue powdery power to tender his wounds. "This is all my fault...if I didn't get the riddle wrong." Her lips quivered at the sight of blood from the edge of his lips.

"Is he done already?! No , I demand a fitting battle!" The rabbit-eared Champion boasted.

"Mirko, I believe you've had your fun. But this is not to the death."

"The fight is not over until I say it's over. As the champion of the Gates, my rules are law."

"Mirko, please. As primordial champion, you were already given your demand of a fight. But as Princess of Skytopia, I order this to stop."
