Miranda's pov

I want to go out today but Jason is too busy with his duties. "I wish you weren't president." I grumble. He smiles. "nothing we can do about it." He says. "hey you're the president, you can make the rules." I shout. His eyes go wide. "you're right." He says, standing up. He calls a town meeting. Everyone waits below. "I'm stepping down as president. We'll hold elections after we pick candidates but I'm not going to be able to do it anymore." He speeches, "I need to be able to spend more time with my family." He puts an arm around me. "finally, it'll jus be me and you." I say. He smiles and gives me a kiss.

*later that night*

Daryl was released from jail. The first thing he does is go to a bar. I don't know what to do with him. I go to the bar he's in. "hey." He looks up. "how do you live so easily? I don't think I can. After being on the run. Why'd you bring me back if you weren't going to be with me?" He asks. It pains me to see him so upset. "I'm sorry Daryl." I say, close to tears. He looks up at me. "he's 40 something and you're in your late 20's the same age as me!" He shouts. "we'd still be the same age if I didn't die." I mumble. We get into a heated argument, luckily we're the only two in the bar. "you're right it was a mistake bringing you back!" I yelp. "then why? Why did you?" He asks, angrily. We stare at each other. I don't know the answer. He pulls me into a kiss that lasts a while.

Jason's pov

It's so good not to be the boss anymore. I don't have to deal with people counting on me and worrying about failing. "now Where's my wife?" I ask Noone in particular. I ask around and Glenn tells me she went to a bar. "hm how odd." I mumble. I walk down the way. It's empty except for some guy's motorcycle. I walk to the door when I hear whispers. "we can't do this together." I hear Miranda say. Do what? "but I love you and I know you still love me!" Daryl exclaims. Wait those two are together?! "I know but I got married before you were brought back." "you don't really love him! You're still wearing the ring I gave you!" He yelps. "you gave me? This is the ring Jason proposed to me with!" she screams. "you don't know anything." He says, stomping away toward the parking lot. I quickly hide behind a tree as he starts his motorcycle and drives away. "Daryl! Wait!" she cries running out, "what did he mean it was his ring?" I come out of hiding. "it was." I say. She jumps back. "how long have you been standing there?" she asks. I sigh. "do you want to be married to Daryl?" I ask. She shakes her head making me smile. She hugs me and we go back home. "I've officially resigned so I have more time for us now." I say. "yes finally no more working all day and being exhausted!" she shouts gladly. I smile. I may not be president anymore but I'm still tired.

Miranda's pov

"we shouldn't have brought Daryl back. "I mutter. He sits back up." but you were so glad when we did!" He gasps, surprised. "now I regret it." I reply. He falls back to sleep. I hear a knock on the window. I get up and Daryl waits outside my window. "what are you doing here?!" I hiss. "I had to see you!" He says, "I couldn't leave that argument like that." He grabs my chin and kisses me again. I pull back. "you can't keep doing that!" I gripe. "oh come on, you know you like it." He says. "yeah but Jason's sleeping a few steps away from me." I cry. "I don't care!" He yelps, climbing in through the window. He pulls me in his arms. "I miss you." He whispers. "I miss you too but what about him?" I ask. "who cares?" Daryl gripes. "I care!" I say.

Jason's pov

I hear voices. I want to wake up but I'm so tired, my body won't let me. "I can't leave." she says. That stirs me. "what's going on?" I ask. She looks over and pulls out of Daryl's arms. "she was my girl first. She's coming with me." He says. "oh come on! I don't have time to deal with this!" I gripe, getting up. "get out of my bedroom, Daryl."

Miranda's pov

"who do you choose babe?" Daryl asks. I look between the two people I care about most in the world. "I can't." I cry, running from the room. "oh man what am I going to do."

Jason's pov

"I'm getting my girl back if it kills me." Daryl says. "I won't make any promises." I growl, angrily. He runs at me but I jump out of the way. "she doesn't love you. She just wants to be first lady!" He yells. "ha, that's where your wrong, I resigned today and she was thrilled." I reply. He swings his fist back, punching me in the face. I stumble back, my teeth gritted in anger. "STOP!" Miranda yells running in with a gun in her hand. I freeze. She won't shoot me. "I'm sorry about all of this. But Jason, the dead should stay dead." she says, pointing it at Daryl. Wait what does she mean? "you aren't going to kill me." Daryl says. She shoots him, which shocks me. I fall back. "glad that's over." I mutter. Then she puts the gun to her head! "what are you doing?" I shout. "I said the dead should stay dead and I meant it." she says crying. "no you can't kill yourself." I gasp, standing up. Her gaze drops to the floor. "goodbye Jason." she whispers. "noooo" I cry running forward. I grab the gun just as she pull the trigger. The bullet hits the ceiling. I take a deep breath and hold it in. She's unconscious. I sigh. "she's not dead." I whisper. Thank God. I pick her up and lay her on the bed. I got to keep watch on her 24/7. "you can't leave. I just got you back." I whisper, wiping the sweat from my forehead. I feel like I'm back in the apocalypse. I won't let her kill herself. That's a promise.
