Jason's pov
We have to send search parties out to make sure there's no more walkers. Miranda doesn't want me to go but I have to. I'm one of the very few people left that went through the apocalypse. Everyone else is dead. I pick my shotgun back up. "honey I've got to go with them." I say. Her eyes fill with tears. "promise me you'll stay here and stay safe." she shakes her head. "you aren't going out there without me. Just cause I only have one arm doesn't mean I can't shoot." she says. I sigh. "I need someone I trust to stay with keely." I say. She grabs my hand. "I'd rather die." she whispers. There's no point in fighting. She won't listen. "fine, but you stay by me the whole time." I mutter. She grabs the crossbow and loads an arrow. "ready?" I ask. She nods and kisses my cheek. I'm glad to say before we left I was able to get her a prosthetic arm. Abraham stands beside us as we open the door. "I say we check the east wall first where it's most broken." Abe says. I nod and we walk that way. The wind pulls at us. I thought we were done with this all those years ago but now it's back. A gust of wind rips my hat off my head. "damn, I've had that hat since my performin' days." I grumble.
Miranda's pov
He loved that hat. "we'll find it." I say. We search the whole place, finding nothing. Abraham goes back to tell everyone not to worry. We sit on top of the wall, overlooking the world not fixed by our services. He sighs and sets a hand on my leg. "this world is just as bad as the other one." I mutter, "I feel like it would be easier to be dead."
Jason's pov
She's thinking of things she shouldn't be thinking about. She stands up. "if we both jump, we won't have to deal with anything anymore." she says. "no way!" I gasp, grabbing her hand. "Hey it's going to get better." I say. "why? What's the point!?" she yells while crying. I pull her chin up. "this is the point." I say, kissing her. "our love, our life, our Little girl." I say when I pull back. She looks away. "life sucks." she mutters. "no it doesn't, we've got a lot of crap to deal with but I was a Wreck after you died." I admit. She smiles. "you were?" she says. I nod. I look back over the outside world and spot my hat. I smile. "where are you going?" she asks. I smile. "we." I say. "we?" she gapes. "yes we. We are going on an adventure." I tell her. "you're weird." she says, making me laugh. "gotta give ya a reason to want to live and I gotta get my hat back. So I'd say kill two birds with one stone." I explain. She grins and I grab her hand. We slide down the wall. She screams in surprise and we land in a heap at the bottom both of us laughing. We stand up. "now let's go find that hat." she says. I laugh. "oh babe you know this ain't about a hat." I say. She nods. "I had a feeling but..." she says. "but what?" I ask. She looks away. "is it because-"i start." I don't want to talk about it." she says quickly. She grabs my hand and we walk through the woods, looking for that stupid hat. "that's not what I care about." I say. She looks up at me. I pull her in my arms and kiss her.
Miranda's pov
He pushes me against the wall as we kiss. I do love him but the thought of doing that after what happened freaks me out. His hands move down my back. I can't take it anymore. I run off.
