Miranda's pov

I call Glenn to invite him over so I can tell him what happened. He looks frightened as he walks passed the graves. I hold myself together as best as I can. "Miranda, what happened?" He asks, slowly. "I have to tell you. Jason is.... He's.. He's dead!" I cry, unable to stop myself as I cry my eyes out. His arm is around me a second later. "how?" He asks. "a stupid copperhead." I whimper. I cry into his chest. "what about the others?" He asks. I look up at him. "uh, that's a long story I really don't want to get into." I say. He nods and we go inside. He sits on the couch, staring in space, too shocked. "Glenn, are you okay?" I ask, sitting beside him. He nods. "just a little surprised. After all, he was our leader. Our go to man. The guy we look to for our next move. What are we gonna do now?" He says. I shrug and brush away the tears that roll down my face. He leans back on the couch and I do the same. "how are you taking this?" He asks. I shake my head. "is Maggie ever coming back?" I ask, looking over at him. "I hope so. I haven't seen her in a while." He says. Keely gives me a letter and a hug. The last thing I have of him. I don't want to let her go but I have to. I open the letter. It's from the governor! I drop it in fear. He picks it up and reads it aloud. Give up your forces and supplies and we won't have to kill anyone. If you fight us, we will kill everyone. We have enough forces to do so. I suggest you don't fight. He looks at me. "what do we do!?" He cries. "I don't know!" I gasp, shaking in my, I mean, Jason's boots. I've been wearing them. It makes me feel better. "this is a moment when we'd really need him." "think. What would Jason do?" He asks. "He would kick the governor's ass but I can't." I say. I hear a new voice say, "yes you can." I turn around and almost scream when I see him. I hug him. "Jason, what are you doing here?" I ask. "you need my help. What you should do is attack before they do." He says. "you've gotta be the new leader. You can't let the governor take over." I smile up at him. "I won't, I promise! As long as you promise to come back and visit occasionally." I say. He smiles. "it's a deal." He says, kissing me. He vanishes. I turn around and Glenn and Beth are staring at me like I'm loony. Crap! "okay I know what we need to do!" I say. "are you okay?" Beth asks. I nod. "we need to attack before they do." I explain. Glenn nods and looks at Beth with his eyes wide. He nods to her. "guys what's going on?" I ask. "nothin'." Glenn says walking over to me. He takes my hand and guides me to the couch. "what just happened?" He asks. "nothing! Guys we don't have time for this. We have to stop the governor. Jason gave me a great idea." I say, then cringe realizing my mistake. They saw me talking to him. I feel a sharp prod in my arm. I spin around and there's a needle in my arm. I pull it out. "what was this!?" I yell, standing up. "something to calm you down." Glenn says, catching me as I fall over. "no I... Can't I have to protect this place... I promised him I would..." my eyelids feel unbearably heavy. I grab Glenn's shirt. "do not let the governor take over!" I strain to say. He nods and lays me on the couch. The last thing I hear is Glenn saying, "maybe if we give in to his demands, he'll spare our lives." she nods. "no!" I whisper, falling unconscious.
