Jason's pov

Me and Miranda are sitting on the porch. Keely is playing hide and seek with Lori. "man she's got a lot of tolerance for kids." Miranda says. Glenn tosses me a beer. "it's been a while since I drank a beer." I mumble, twisting the cap. I hear keely scream and I toss the beer down and run. She runs out of the woods as a walker stumbles out! "another one!" I shout. I don't have any weapons on me. Me and keely run back to the house as Glenn shoots it. We stop running. "man, I thought we got them all." He says. Maggie takes keely inside and I sit on the ground winded, the wound on my stomach throbbing. "need help?" he asks. I shake my head and take a deep breath. "just... Need to... Rest." I gasp. "you sure you're okay?" He asks. I just stare at the sky. "man I'm tired." I mutter. He helps me up and we walk back to the house. "dude we never would've gotten by without you." I say, gratefully. "anytime, bro." He replies. Beth pulls up. We decided to have the bbq anyway. She gets out of her car and stares at me suspiciously. I sit back on the porch. "hey, Beth. How ya been?" Glenn asks. She glares at me. "I'm fine, Glenn." she says, highly annoyed. "I'm starting to think this was a bad idea." the wife says. I nod in agreement. Maggie hugs her. "I missed ya." she says. Her glare turns icy. "well ya wanna know who I miss?" she growls. Maggie sighs. "my brothers." she says. She sits on the ground by the porch. As much as I can't stand her, we're trying to make friends. "Ya wanna sit up here in a chair?" I ask, slightly more sarcastic than I wanted to be. She rolls her eyes and goes inside. I follow her as she sits on the couch. I close the door behind me. Her attitude is starting to piss me off. "what's your problem?" I gripe. She looks up at me. "what happened to you?" she asks. She's about pushed me to the breaking point, being rude and ignoring my question. I smirk. "your brother happened." I say. Her eyes light up like fire. "you son of a bitch!" she yells, standing up. I walk passed her into the kitchen. I hear her crying. My smile fades. Damn why do I always have to be such a softy? I walk back out. "Beth I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." I say, sitting beside her. She looks up, brushing the tears from her eyes. "so what really happened?" she asks. I give her the same excuse I gave Miranda. She looks at her worn out shoes. I sigh and stand up, wincing in pain as I open a closet. I pull out an old pair of boots. They look her size. I hand them to her. She stares at them surprised. "why are you being so nice to me?" she asks. I'm about to reply when Glenn says the food's ready. I walk out and Miranda stands up, kissing me on the cheek. "darn it, Jason you're too tall." she says. I laugh. "nah I think you're too short." I reply picking her up, "start growin' more." she smiles and kisses me again. "come on!" Glenn calls. I roll my eyes. "I hate our friends." I joke. "eh, they're OK." she replies. I set her down and we go to the table where the food is. "Where's Beth?" Maggie asks. I sigh. She's probably still inside. I walk back to the house. Her back is to me. The trapdoor is open. Wait! The trapdoor is open!!! I run inside and pull her away. "why? Why do you have those dead bodies down there?" she whispers, staring at me horrified. Dammit how do I explain this!? "they're my
g-girls and my first wife." I say, nervously. "why are they down there!?" she shouts. I glance back at their remains. I couldn't bear to put them in the ground. I know it's psychotic and dark, some may say sick and twisted but I did it and I don't regret it. I close the trapdoor. "why the fuck did you open it?" I gripe. She doesn't answer me. "they're gonna flip when they hear about this." she whispers. Shit! She can't tell them! "no way, you can't tell them!" I say. She turns around. "oh yeah, and how do you plan on stopping me?" she gripes. She shouldn't have asked that. I already didn't like her but now she's a threat. She turns to leave but I grab her arm. "you better not tell them." I say. "oh I'm telling them." she says. She tries to get away but I won't let her go then she does it again, kicking me in the nuts. I really hate this girl. I fall to my knees in pain. "you little bitch!" I cry. I grab her leg, making her fall. I open the trapdoor and throw her in. She hits her head and falls unconscious. That's gonna be hard to explain. I'll just say she took a walk. I go back out. "couldn't find her?" Lori asks. I shake my head and sit down to eat. Everyone's talking and joking unaware. All I'm thinking about is thank goodness that little room is soundproof. I smile as I eat.
