Jason's pov
I wish I could go back and talk to her but Jess is getting jealous. I'll give it a few days.
Miranda's pov
Me and Glenn go for a long walk while Beth takes care of keely. "we're the last people from our group to survive the apocalypse." He says. I nod and he grabs my hand. "how long have you liked me?" I ask. "a while. I'm just not good at voicing that kind of thing." He mutters rubbing his neck. We sit on a bench in a park. Several kids are running around playing tag and junk.
Beth's pov
Keely sits on the couch and I notice she has tears in her eyes. "keely, what's wrong?" I gape, surprised. "I wish daddy would come back." she whimpers, then opens the trapdoor and sits on the floor, crying. I walk out to the porch. "okay, Jason where are you? I know you can come back! So why aren't you?" I yell. No response! "does he even care?" I mumble. "of course I care!" He says. "then why don't you come talk to your daughter?" I ask. He sighs. "I've got other people to think about. I've got a wife and 2 daughters. And that wife doesn't like it when I visit!" He grumbles. "well this one doesn't like it when ya don't!" I cry. He shakes his head. "well if it wasn't for you snooping where you didn't belong, I wouldn't be dead!" He screams. He's right about that. "I am sorry about that. But what do I do with keely? She's crying." I gasp. "Where's Miranda?" He asks. "on a date with Glenn." she says. "well Where's keely?" He asks. I look back at the house. "trapdoor." I mumble.
Jason's pov
I got to get her out of there. There could be more snakes. I'd never forgive myself if she died from a snake. "hey, keely, what ya doin' down here?" I ask. She looks up. "dad! I thought you were gone for good." she cries, hugging me. "no, of course not. I just had to stay away for a little bit. We need to get outta here." I say, glancing around. We leave and I close the trapdoor. "don't go down there anymore. Ya never know what's down there!" I gripe. "I can't stay long." "why not? "she asks." it's complicated. I hear Glenn and Miranda on the porch. "ok, I gotta go sweetheart, don't tell your mom I was here." I say, quickly. "why?" she whimpers. "if I keep coming back, she won't move on." I explain, "you'll understand when you're older." she sighs and nods. I get out of there before she comes inside.
Miranda's pov
We had a pretty good time. I think there might be something worthwhile with this boy. He kisses me goodbye and goes back to his house. I go inside and lean against the door, trying not to flip out.
*later*
I sit on my bed flipping through a scrapbook I made of Jason and Daryl. Two boys I loved. Two boys I lost. "I wonder when you'll come back." I mumble. I flip to a picture of me and Daryl playing charades. I remember that night like it was yesterday.
~flashback~
I act out singing as a storm raged outside. We were watching the cma awards when the stupid weather killed the TV. He looked at a card and smiled. I wonder what it was. He pulls me to my feet and kisses me. I give him a questioning look. "are we still playing the game?" I ask. He nods and rubs my back as he kisses me again. "is it love?" I ask. He nods. "you're smart." He whispers.
~flashback over~
I smile at the fun memory and the TV came back just as they announced my future husband to win entertainer of the year. I turn the page to where Jason was planting stakes in the ground with Eric to surround our crops. "my walker protection team." I mumble. "so you and Glenn huh?" Daryl says, making me jump. I smile. "what are you doing here?" I ask. He smiles. "have you seen Jason in a while?" He asks. I remember the past four days of no Jason. I shake my head. "you okay?" He asks. I nod. "I'm fine." I grumble. He sighs and disappears. "Jason, you promised! Why did you stop coming?!" I cry. "you're doing fine with Glenn. Why do you still need me?" He asks, all of a sudden sitting beside me. I try to hide my surprise. He smiles. "I love you, that's why!" I gasp, giggling. He just looks at the bed. "how much do you love me?" He asks, smiling. "with all my heart dear. I'd kill to bring you back." I reply. "that could be arranged." He says, confusing me. "what do you mean?" I ask. "I guess you could call it a deal with the devil." He whispers. "an eye for an eye. Like a sacrifice." He explains. "you're starting to scare me." I say. He smiles. "follow me. I think I know another way I could come back." He says. I just go along with it. We reach an abandoned park. We walk to a half buried pile of dirt. "what are we doing here?" I ask. "just look in that pile of dirt." He says. I dig and find a book, a really old book. "where did that come from?" I ask. He shrugs. "Daryl told me about it." He says, flipping to a page. I stare at it, shocked. It's a spellbook! "it's a resurrection spell." He says. I smile. "now when ya do this, Noone but you will remember what happened, not even me." He says. "I'll see ya soon." I say, excitedly. He nods and kisses my forehead.
Jason's pov
Sorry Jess but I ain't ready to quit. I shouldn't have died yet it was too soon. She speaks the spell and all goes black. I wake up on the couch back home. "what's going on?" I ask. "nothin'. We're just watching tv." my loving wife says. Keely runs into the living room and sits beside us. The door bell rings. "oh our guests have arrived!" Miranda says, jumping up excitedly. She opens the door and our good friends Maggie and Glenn come in. "we throwin' a party or somethin'?" I ask. She nods. "for what?" she pulls me to my feet and turns music on. "just cause we can!" she cries, happily, dancing. She's super happy about something! I wonder what! I grab her hands and spin her around. "this, my girl, is my kinda party." I say, kissing her lips.
