AMARI ROUSSEAU

"You've never made an attempt to know me so how should I remember you."

"I thought your mum would've shown you pictures of me or something." He mumbled.

"Pictures? Why- hold on, you married him?" Celeste nodded. "He was abusive. He told you he didn't want a baby and pushed you down the stairs while you were pregnant with me. He almost killed us both!"

"Celeste, both of them deserve a proper explanation because this is getting ridiculous." Niko pointed out.

"Ryan, Selena, go to your rooms please." They reluctantly left, leaving us to talk. "Amari, just before you were born, your father-"

"Not my father."

"Grow up, Amari." Mr White said, rolling his eyes, and I screwed my face at him.

"Fine, just before you were born Trey got sent to prison, not for the assault on me but for other things. He was in for twelve years but during that time I sent letters to him and he wrote back to him.

For the entire time I was married to Elliott, I was still in love with Trey. I only married Elliott so he could give me somewhere nice to live, I was just waiting all that time. So when Trey finally got out we made a plan for me to leave France and come to England to be with him. That's why I left, to be with Trey."

Disgust washed over me when I looked at the both of them. "You left your children, Celeste, your life, your family."

"I loved him, I still do."

"Let me get this straight, you left Papa to marry your abuser?" Ant asked in confusion.

"I left to be with the man I love, yes."

"Papa, gave you everything, he loved you more than anything."

"That was his own fault. Ant, you were never a miracle baby. I just had an implant that he didn't know about, I didn't want a child with Elliott. I only had you because Trey told me having a child with him would keep him around so we could use him." Ant stood up from his chair, shaking his head. "Where are you going?"

"I'm leaving, this was a mistake. I thought I wanted to get to know you but I was wrong. You're a shitty person, shitty excuse of a mother. I don't even know why I wanted to talk to you. Closure my ass, I don't need you. You know, Mar has been a million times better than you could've ever been to me."

"Don't you dare talk to your mother like that." Trey said.

"Oh, but she's not my mother so I guess it doesn't matter how I speak to her." He raised his hand to hit Antoine but I stood in front of him, making him laugh humourlessly.

"Why are you defending him? Selena and Ryan are your full blood siblings, you should be here with them, you belong with your family, Amari. Not with those bastards."

I felt my blood boil as he looked at Ant with such disgust. Without thinking I swung at Trey's face, making him stumble back into the table, some of the dishes falling with him. The sound of glass shattering and cutlery clashing filled the room and I kissed my teeth at him.

"I don't want to hear from either of you ever again. I don't want you near my family." I said to them before taking Antoine's hand and walking out, Niko following close behind.

We sat in the car and I let out a shaky breath as tears began to fill my eyes. Niko tried to hold my hand but I moved it out of his reach and faced the window.
