Somehow, we get Butler and Morrigan both to Heaven. They each get a bed in a hospital.
Of course, no one lingers at Morrigan's bed, only Butler's.
Morrigan was right, confirmed by the medics, Butler won't die, the bullet didn't touch his brain. They also said that Butler had collapsed due to too much magical exposure, too much positivity. His body couldn't handle the pressure. The fairy doctors have used their magic to heal Morrigan Butler and me already, but the two of them are still unconscious.
It's been a day, and neither of them have yet to to wake up.
I've abandoned school to be by Butler's side.
Foaly will be giving Morrigan a mind-wipe by tomorrow, no matter if she's still sleeping when it happens. There will be no more messing around with her anymore, she's got to lose her memories.
I'm sitting by Butler's bedside with my head in my hands, the doctors say that they are both in dream state, not ready to be aroused yet, but it's killing me inside to just stand by and wait.
I hear a sudden sharp gasp and the creaking of a mattress, i pull my head up to see that the sound came from Morrigan's side of the curtain. I hesitate a little, but still decide to stand up and walk to her bedside.
She's not awake yet, but is it possible that she is conscience at a certain level, just enough to hear what's going on around her, but as i inch closer, i realize that that's not the case, i think she's dreaming. The sight of her dreaming face isn't what i'd expected.
Sweat is beading in shiny droplets across her forehead and running down her face to soak into the bed sheets crumpled around her, her facial muscles are twisted into a painful expression, much like the one i made when i was being tortured, and - i can't be sure - but i think i see her eyes leaking tears. Morrigan's having a nightmare.
I sit down on her bed, and she doesn't wake up. In some vain attempt to get her to answer my questions, i ask her, hoping she'd hear me through the coma,
"Why did you do it, Morrigan? Why did you shot Butler? Were you really trying to kill him? Was it just a lucky shot? Or did you purposefully not let the bullet hit his brain? Are you that good at aiming? If so, why did you do it? Morrigan?"
But she doesn't answer. As much as i hate her, i can't help but be reminded of my own night terrors. She just lets out another gasp and screws up her face even more, clenching her teeth and knotting her eyebrows like i'd hurt her.
Again, the image of her tied and tortured from my dream shows it's ugly face, and i notice that both the real Morrigan and the Morrigan in my dream, are making the same face, except this time, there's no blood or bruises and cuts on her skin.
I shake my head and leave her bedside, going back to Butler.
He's sitting up in his bed, a magazine that was previously on the bedside table now propped in his hands, he glances up when i enter and breaks his face into a wide smile.
I must have looked shocked, because he says, "What's wrong? You act like you've seen a ghost"
My own face cracks into a grin, "You're awake"
"That i am"
I walk over and pull up a chair beside him.
"Anything i missed?" He asks.
"After Morrigan shot you, i ran with the antidote to the bomb and dismantled it while Holly's arm healed and Morrigan fended off all the guards"
He wrinkles his nose, "Did any survive?"
