Artemis's POV
I see her eyes dim before it happens. Her eyes roll back into her skull, and she drops like a boneless doll.
I catch her before she hits the ground, "Morrigan?!"
She doesn't answer.
Butler is at my side instantly.
"We need to call Mother and Father" I say.
"Already on it"
~*~
She wakes up only after 20 minutes laying in our house.
She doesn't wake slowly, but with a jolt, immediately putting herself into an upright position. I startle.
"Nice to see you awake again." I say,
"Sure, nice to be awake again" She replies, almost automatically.
Y/N's POV
I stand up and take a look around.
Whispers burst to life in the back of my mind,
What are you doing in here?
He's trying to kill you, you should kill him before he hurts you.
Why are you so stupid?
Butler can kill you.
You let yourself get caught, how weak.
Kill him; it's necessary.
Artemis hates you so much.
Butler's trying to trap you in his mansion, he's going to hurt you.
RUN!
With each step i take, they tell me to get out of the room, to murder Artemis, they're defening, i can't block them out.
The room around me wavers like an image reflected in a pond. Complex patterns on the walls and objects in the room shake and switch around. Objects around me change colour, flashing in the corner of my eye. I look to Artemis's face, it's blurred, Butler's face is the same, his expression changing and flashing too quickly for me to comprehend.
An intense and awful migraine swamps me, the pain throbbing in my head. I don't mind the pain too much, i can ignore it perfectly well, but everything else around me is just too much.
I sit back on the bed, heavier than i mean to. I close my eyes and lean into my palms.
I need my medication. I haven't taken it for too long.
I must have passed out from stress, and lack of sleep. All my work and the responsibility i put on myself wearing out my body, until it finally crumpled under the pressure. This isn't the first time this has happened, and i know it won't be the last.
I feel a light hand on my shoulder, shaking me. I jerk away from the physical contact, lifting my hands up to push the other away. I peer up to see Artemis's worried face, and Butler's huge form, not far behind him.
"Morrigan!" I hear him like we're talking through several blankets and a bog. His face is now rippling along with the rest of the room, not coming into focus.
I can't hear his voice clearly over the voices in my own head, they've gotten louder now, since Artemis is so close. They tell me he has bad intentions, that he's gonna order Butler to hurt me, that i'm a fool for not believing them.
I push him away and return my head back to my hands. I speak, the only voice that is clear to me,
"Artemis, Butler? I can't hear you guys. It's not your fault, speaking louder won't help anything either. Just leave me alone"
